Great food, service could have been better

The beautiful interior and nice food in no way compensates for the absolutely terrible service. A party of 10, seated in the VIP area we were out of site and out of mind. The food (when it eventually arrived) came in dribs and drabs, mains with no sides and coffees with no milk, we had to ask for drinks whilst waiting 1.5 hours for food, even water. Don't bother complaining, no one seems to care that the service is poor. If you eat the food, you pay in full! Thats the policy. Not even an apology. Very disapointing. I wont be going back.

The food is good, but the service is appalling. Almost 2 hours before our food was served. Not all food arrived at the same time. The deserts didnt arrive together either. We had to prompt them to get water for the table, prompt them to actually bring our meals after waiting an hour and a half. Coffee arrived with no milk/cream or sugar and these had to be requested. Speaking to the manager had no effect whatsoever. He clearly has no authority to act, to placate or compensate for the terrible service. All he would say was we ate the food so he could not do anything, no reductions, no free items, not even an appropriate apology. Did he not think to send over nibbles and an apology for the delay while we waited. There we about 12 of us you would expect him to notice and do something with 12 hungry people waiting til 10.20 for a meal booked for 8.30. All he would say was it's because we ordered no starters. We won't be going there again other places nearby have equally good food and far better service.

We had a wonderful first visit to Izgara last night for our wedding anniversary. We were blown away with the exquisite decor, the staff were very efficient and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was full so there was a real buzz and a great atmosphere with subtle Mediterranean background music. There were breadsticks with 2 dips on the table when we sat down and then we had the sharing platter to start. My husband had the mixed grill, each type of meat was tender and clearly top quality. I had sea bream, 2 fillets, in a deliciously creamy sauce with dill and we shared the cauliflower with a manchego cheese sauce and tender stem broccoli, all beautiful cooked and piping hot. The homemade chocolate brownie and churros with chocolate sauce rounded off an absolutely culinary delight. It was like being on holiday! We also had a wander upstairs after the meal where there are various classy seating areas for pre and post dinner drinks and the loos are very fancy too with gorgeous smelling soap!! A truly wonderful night out, we’ll definitely go again.

The food is ok and personally I don't think it's worth the value but I won't be going back as the service is appalling. We waited nearly 2 hours for our food, and then it didn't all arrive at the same time. Same with the desserts and the coffee arrived without cream/sugar and was only just warm! The manager was unapologetic and refused to offer a discount saying that 'as we had eaten it, he couldn't discount'. We did say we didn't have an issue with the food, just the service but he wouldn't change his mind - does he have any authority to offer discounts I wonder? His reasoning was that everyone's starters would be cooked first and as we hadn't ordered starters, we would have to wait for our mains - ridiculous! If this is owned by the same company as La Bella Vita, I'm very surprised and disappointed! If I could give an overall rating of 0 stars - I would!

Our second visit here, we really enjoyed the experience last night, it was a treat for my wife's birthday, food was great and plenty of staff at hand Thanks Andy & Katie
