Hunan Cafe

Excellent take-out. Super nice folks. We ALWAYS order from Hunan Cafe because it's consistant and reliable for our Chinese chicken/Broc & spring roll/wonton fix! Inside could use updating but we always take out... Update here.. we've eaten inside twice, nothing snazzy, but their family service is outstanding. Very satisfied with take-out or dine-in. Kid-friendliness: Highchairs and boosters available Wheelchair accessibility: All one level. 2 doors to get through. Tables and booths. Don't recall the bathroom situation.

We waited too late to get into Peking on Christmas night. I googled Chinese food near me and Hunan Cafe came up. It's in a strip mall on Staples Mill Rd. We walked in and there were just a few people eating inside. 1/2 of the restaurant was packed up, not sure why! I used the restroom and it was very clean! The food came and it was really tasty! Everything was served on disposable plates and bowls with plastic utensils. Not sure if that's normal or just on Christmas ! We had Won Ton soup that was really flavorful followed by fried dumplings and egg rolls. All delicious! Our main dish was Sesame chicken with rice. It was delicious! There was broccoli with it. The sauce was so good! We definitely had enough to bring home for lunch tomorrow! A nice little spot for good Chinese food!

I love this place. It is your standard Chinese restaurant with all the classics on the menu, including egg rolls (which no one in Richmond does). The food is great, the portions healthy, and pretty reasonable prices. Give it a try when your craving traditional Chinese. P.S. to the owners: you guys gave us a cool little bamboo hanging calendar last time we ordered. I thought that was a really nice touch and a cool promo gift.

We were introduced to food from Hunan Cafe while visiting family. We don't live in the area, so while in the area, we made a point to pick up food for dinner and still have leftovers to enjoy. The food is excellent with good portions. I especially like the General Tso Chicken and Roast Pork Egg Foo Young. The wife enjoys the Pepper Steak and Beef Lo Mein. Delicious food.

For many years, this was my go to. Now, the food has gotten extra oily and greasy. It even smells like burnt grease. I just can not eat here anymore. Tried several times this year and it doesn't get better.

Very good service and always polite and the food is always good. I love it here. It's a good place to go too!!

So nasty and pricey

Food is always amazing, my favorite place to get Chinese so many vegetarian options!

Horrible quality of food. The sesame chicken was like rubber and the pork tasted like some fake meat. It was Horrible.....spent 60 bucks for garbage.

Excellent! The roast pork loin mein is my fave. I recommend the dinner specials. It's better to pick it up so it's super fresh.
