Howdy! As someone who has lived many places within the country and originally from NY, it’s a true struggle to find good bagels, especially boiled and hand rolled bagels, fresh and still warm when you’re served them. I haven’t had a “good” bagel since my last visit to NY, until today at Howdy Bagel. These bagels are delicious, fresh, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I am so impressed with Howdy Bagel, not only because of the quality of bagels, but also for its community support through locally sourced products like eggs, meat and dairy. Apart from the extremely delicious food, I was blown away with how kind and friendly all of the staff was, as well as the range of products sold other than their food and drinks. The decor is perfection as well. 100 out of 10
Holy grail of the closest thing I've had to a true New York bagel. WOW. One of my clients brought me a bagel from their shop and said I HAD to try it. She said the line was insane and the bagels were rapidly dissapearing. She was able to grab me a rosemary and salt bagel yesterday. I saved it and just had it this morning...WOW!!! The outside has that classic thin crunchy layer that a true bagel should have...while the inside is SO FLUFFY AND SOFT. Also the rosemary flavor is absolutely insane so so good! Very glad I only live like 15 minutes from this place...we will be frequent customers! Pregnant lady approved ❤️
Food is really great in here. Hands down best bagel I ever had.
Great food, friendly atmosphere, but long lines. The daily line outside the shop finally got us curious enough to try this out. After more than half an hour, we finally got inside, and the atmosphere was great - workers were lively and polite, and there was a variety of small business and minority-owned products to look at while waiting for your turn for the bagels. After another thirty minutes of being in line and waiting for the order, we got three bagel sandwiches - pastrami, egg, & cheese; avo boast; lox in a box. All of them were delicious and filling, but very messy to eat, which is expected of a bagel sandwich. I'd suggest getting this for a takeout, as it's quite hard to get ahold of a table. Overall, it's worth a try if you're curious, but I don't see myself coming here often just due to sheer wait time (we came for Saturday lunch, so it might vary).
Absolutely a Tacoma Treasure! Fun, Fabulous, and Delicious
Great atmosphere and great food. I must have got lucky. No line and walked right in this morning. First timer and had the bagel, bacon, egg, and cheese. I believe they put howdy sauce on it. I was suggested to try it with the rosemary and sea salt bagel and it was the best sandwich I've had. Ended up walking out with a half dozen as well. I will be back.
WE LOVE THIS PLACE! EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS HOT AND FRESH....THE STAFF IS SO NICE, AND THIS PLACE HAS SUCH A WARM FEELING. THE LINE TO GET IN IS LONG LONG BUT WORTH THE WAIT!
Just go get a bagel. You’re not going to regret it. Worth the wait so if you see a line, just park the car and hope in it. It’s going to become one of your favorite places
Wow, a friend treated me to these bagels and they’re so good. This is the closest I’ve found to having an NYC type bagel in the PNW. Will definitely be back.
