House of Pies Restaurant & Bakery Cypress

We frequently go to this house of pies. But tonight was so disappointing that we decided to just leave and get supper some where else. When we entered and saw approximately 12-14 people standing waiting to be seated, I didn't think any negative at all. Yet, when we saw numerous clean empty tables, and asked why we were told it would be a 15min wait, I asked politely, "why can't anyone go ahead and be seated?" The staff member said, "I can't seat anyone" I asked why is everyone being made to stand if there are tables clean and ready? He said, "kitchen is short staffed" I asked to be seated please, so we can wait sitting rather than all of these customers being stuck standing. The manager refused this and left everyone standing. I just know that isn't very good hospitality to your guests. I hope their manager reads this. It is not a nice way at all to treat people who may worked all day, been on their feet, and want to set down. I'd rather wait sitting than standing by clean empty booths.

We came to the Cy Fair location as we absolutely love the other locations. We came in and waited for over 15 mins without anyone coming to our table or acknowledging our existence. There were others that walked in after us that were waited on. When we got up to walk out they looked at us and did not say a word to us. We even told them and they did not even respond! I get mistakes happen, but not even acknowledging us even after we say something is unacceptable.

My boyfriend and friend and I came in to eat this evening. Right at shift change. Everything I witnessed by the staff was exceptional. There's always going to be screw-up in the industry, but how they are handled is key. I witnessed a waitress drop some plates. I witnessed people work as a team to clean it up without making a fuss. The shift change was a little slow. And i only noticed that because the second waiter appeared fairly new. He handled our order very well. I watched a young busboy clean up immediately after customers left. The restaurant itself is clean and tidy. The manager personally went to each table to check on the customers. I know these are everyday things that happen in a restaurant all the time. But what I witnessed was truly a tightly run ship. Everyone did their job and did it well.

Our waitress Kimberly was very nice and very polite! She Kept checking in on us and made sure that our cups were never empty. I loved the atmosphere, the people aren’t mean or rude at all. In short I loved eating here and I WILL eat here often thanks to Kimberly’s service today!
