Horse & Jockey

We stayed for 2 nights and had a bar snack on the Saturday night which was lovely and then 12 of us on Easter Sunday, 3 couples had the butchers block which was really really good food. The breakfasts in the morning were beautiful, we would stay again, only down side was my husband found the bed to hard and didn't sleep too good. But we would stay again as its a lovely pub and good value for money, especially after out premier inn stay only the month before in matlock which was awful. This will be our go to now keep up the good work

Food & drinks: The fish and chips were cooked absolutely to perfection and very well presented. The staff are friendly and made you so welcome. It was nice to see all the staff smiling. Thank you for a fantastic meal. We will be coming back. Love from Michelle and Wayne x

The food is nothing short of pathetic we’ve been going over the last five years and it’s steadily declined to nothing better than bang average Wetherspoons good and after last time we won’t be going again

Absolutely beautiful food but the problem was it was served on a board. Garden peas? On a board? Ridiculous. Also I had a fish finger sandwich which had tartare sauce drizzled all over it so I couldn't actually pick it up. It was served on grease proof paper which was a bit yuk. Maybe just drain after cooking. Also difficult to eat as it was served on top of the salad that I wanted with my food not after I'd finished the sandwich so I had to deconstruct everything before I could eat. Amazing food but chef needs a little common sense. I would definitely specify that u would like your food served appropriately. For example a plate. Other the that a lovely experience
