This restaurant makes a Delicious Pastrami sandwich.

This place is a must if you're in Newark. Been around forever and newly renovated. Great atmosphere right by the Prudential center.....with Devils memorabilia all over the walls. We're talking about an old school kosher deli with some of the best homemade pastrami, brisket and corned beef you'll find anywhere. I started with a cup of the chicken gumbo which was delicious. Not too spicy and full of flavor. I ordered the #5 sandwich which says what they're famous for......let me say WOW. They're not kidding. Huge corned beef and pastrami on rye with slaw and 1000 island dressing. Pickles are always on the table as well. The meat just melts ....no joke....melts in your mouth. Unreal. One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. The place gets packed so get there early or order ahead. Huge menu of all sorts of goodies. Another Gem. Check it out. It was our uncle's request to have pastrami and matzo ball soup for his 93rd birthday, we wasn't disappointed, he loved it as well as my husband and my dish were very tasty and delicious. Very friendly staff, the owner even gave our uncle pistachio halva with a lot candle, everyone sang happy birthday to him. The halva was excellent! Will be back there again.

Best pastrami sandwiches I've had NJ. I brought my family here today, and my daughter loved her cheeseburger, and my wife loved the pastrami.

We were visiting from Australia and arrived a bit early when the staff noticed us trying the door they opened up early for us. The food was amazing and the warmth of the staff was exceptional as was the owner who went out of his way to make us comfortable. A must to visit especially if you’re a hockey fan…..although maybe not if you’re a rangers fan

What an amazing place to not only eat but just to enjoy the old school deli vibe. Owner came out and conversed with us and made sure our food and service was good, but the food and service wasn’t just good it was top notch. Come and enjoy a corned beef and pastrami on rye it was one of the best I have ever had.
