Hobb's Cafe and Monsal's Enchanted Emporium

Probably my favourite cafe ever for all the reasons. The setting is a big one but the decor is really special, the food just great and generous pot of tea - will ask for Yorkshire tea next time as I prefer my tea stronger but that applies to nearly every cafe I’ve ever drank in. Not much to say, below average place with below average cakes. Without the fabulous location would probably didn't exist.

Took my friend here for lunch today as a birthday treat. It was our first time here and the weather didn’t look favourable for such an exposed spot however, the sun came out and the clouds parted right on time. Booking the table through Instagram was a very pleasant experience and the friendly staff couldn’t have been more accomodating. They’d reserved the table with the best view for us and oh what a view! The cook/ owner Nick came to chat and was full of interesting facts about the history of the building in relation to the viaduct in the valley below. Our food was delicious- mixed veg, feta and hummus toastie and a posh fish finger sandwich for my friend followed by tea and cakes that were so delicious that I bought a treat to take home. Whether coming for lunch or calling in for a hot drink/bacon butty after a walk on the Monsal Trail, this is definitely worth a visit. We look forward to returning soon.

A warm cosy cafe with the friendliest gentleman behind the counter. The cinnamon swirl, crounuts & rocky road square were absolutely delicious.

It was a lovely place to visit and the staff were superb. Well worth a visit. Parking: There is a large car park behind the pub.

Nice cafe lovely views

Lovely and cosy in front of the open fire in a little snug room tucked around the corner from the main eating and cafe area ..welcoming, helpful friendly staff despite being really busy. We had some delicious toasted sandwiches served with a side salad...a Shropshire sausage roll and some pastries for afters from a good selection at the counter. We ordered a pot of tea for two with enough tea for 2 cups each. ... These are good people doing a great job. Thanks for having us!
