I love Harris teeter the lay out of the store the friendly staff, the endless selection of foods ready to go or cook at home. You can go into there and get your whole meal fresh and hot and good. I go for their sushi me and my girls love the selection... Harris teeter is my teeter

Quick and easy shopping with all the products I needed. Open early, friendly and helpful staff, just an overall great grocery store to have out here in our rural-becoming-suburban community.

My beef is with the bakery. I ordered a 1/2 sheet birthday cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party. It was supposed to be a special Safari themed decorated cake. I placed the order on Monday and the cake was supposed to be ready today by 5 pm. I received an order number (order #48.) By Wednesday when I hadn’t received any kind of confirmation email I called the bakery. I spoke to someone who confirmed she saw my order. She also told me I wouldn’t receive any kind of email or correspondence until after the cake is ready to be picked up (weird right?) But I clarified with her THAT SHE SAW MY NAME AND MY ORDER. Yes, it was there. Today, Friday, came. 5 pm came. No email. I waited until 6 just in case they were running behind. No email. I called and was told they didn’t have my cake, didn’t have my order, and the cake decorator went home for the day already. Was told sorry, we have premade cakes I can get. I asked how it was possible that someone saw my name and order two days prior but it mysteriously wasn’t there now. I even had an order number. All I was told was there system was glitching. I was not offered any kind of discount or given a solution such as they could get it made first thing in the morning. This is what bothered me the most. My daughter requested three things for her birthday (cake, balloons, and pizza) and I had already failed her on one request. This entire situation was created because I was trying to save some money (insert eye roll.) We were going to order from Publix but I thought it would be a good idea to save money and order from Harris Teeter. The joke was on me. We ended up going to Publix after this fiasco and bought two 1/4 sheet cakes because that was the biggest they had premade. If you want to actually receive your cake, go to Publix. We used them for our daughter’s first 2 birthdays and they were delicious. I should have ordered from them from the beginning. I will never trust Harris Teeter again.

This is a great grocery store. Must admit that their bakery items are expensive compared to other stores. They have great produce.
