What a great spot! Healthy portions (we took food home), wonderful spicy BBQ sauce, and fun helpful service. Recommend rib tips and broccoli casserole for sure.
I've been going to Hap's since 1996, when they were using a trailer on 24th St. and Washington. I know the family well. Their picture is on my den's "wall of fame". I was traveling between my sold home and my new home and stopped in today. I got the rib tips with hot sauce and a chicken sandwich also with hot sauce. I had the rib tips for dinner. As usual, tender perfectly smoked meat and excellent hot sauce taste. Tomorrow's lunch will be the chicken sandwich. One of the best BBQ places around the Phoenix area. -Tommy P.S. Hi Barb !!! Update 01/28/22 : rib tips 5 stars
Walked in and was welcomed by the manager/owner. She made you feel welcome and at home. There were quite a few items on the menu, but I had help in my decision by the manager. I received a two meat plate with chicken and lamb with a side of mash potatoes and garlic bread. I also had two desserts, sweet potato pie and brownie. The chicken, mash potatoes, and brownie was a winner. I'm just here visiting, but if I have time, I will definitely go again.
Food was delicious and served quickly. The option to seat yourself outside was nice. Apparently this place was on some reality TV show - not a selling point for me, but there it is.
Been going for years and I never get tired of it and the food is was and always will be thee best in my opinion it would be #1 out of many barbecue spots!!
OK. I read reviews and decided to stop in, just your average strip mall bbq? NO. It's great! I'm a brisket fan, and while it was no Rudy's moist brisket, it was right up there. Then i tried the hotdog and peach cobbler. The hotdog was LEGIT. Honestly shocked at how good it was. Then i tried the cobbler. WOW again? I've only had about 5-10 in my life, but several were in Georgia. This one is the best I've had so far! Kudos fr. Great spot.
