Nice rooms, good food but terrible restaurant service.

Las habitaciones están heladas no entienden que vamos de un país de calor y la calefacción no funcionaba(hacia frío) . No sé esfuerzan por entenderte son super cerrados en el idioma además el servicio de restaurante(camareros)mega lentos quise hablan con la jefa de cocina que es española para dejarme aconsejar ya que ella misma unas horas antes me dijo que preguntara por ella para lo que necesita cosa que hice y el camarero hizo oidos sordos y me ignoró. Lo siento por Patricia porque es una buena jefa de cocina y persona pero el equipo de jóvenes trabajadores no acompaña. De hay mi única estrella en el servicio. Noteworthy details: Parece que si no hablas inglés eres invisible. No sé esfuerzan además de ser vagos trabajando.

We had our wedding reception here and it was truly magical from start to finish! The team did a magnificent job adding in all the personalised extras to each table and in every area! We were running early all day due to weather and they quickly moved everything forward for us with no hassle what so ever! The day flowed perfectly and we had no stress what so ever! Our events organiser was the best in the business for sure, paying attention to every detail and even offering the father of the bride something to calm nerves before his speech!! The bar staff were very accommodating and got to know us over the night as they were friendly and professional. Reception also very accommodating as many guests stayed the night and misplaced keycards and even at 1.30am they helped with a smile. Every guest was impressed with the rooms they had and breakfast in the morning was delicious. The DJ played to the crowd meaning the dance floor stayed packed for hours on end, we all have such fond memories to look back on and this hotel has played a massive part in that! Rooms: Lovely rooms, none of us wanted to leave. Food & drinks: All round amazing from the service to the taste!

Super hotel venue which not only has a super restaurant and spa but also it's own indoor tennis courts!

Luxury yet affordable hotel providing great quality rooms. Thank you to the lovely accommodating staff who provided a special experience for a birthday celebration. Highly reccomend xxx

My god, this place was amazing. I stayed here for work and didn't get to use any of the leisure activities, of which there are a vast amount of. The staff were fantastic and gave an extremely welcoming and professional service. The room was grand and really gave me that spa feeling despite not having time to use the actual spa. I could really see myself going back here just for a chill, relaxing romantic weekend.

I'm updating this review after 4 years, as this hotel is slowly receiving some of the care and attention it has desperately needed for too long. The staff are lovely and welcoming. Hotel itself is good for Basingstoke. One of the few affordable Basingstoke hotels with a gym, sauna, and pool - which is a big plus. For those rooms that have been repainted - nice work. They feel much fresher. One hopes the budget stretches to new carpet - the existing carpets feel as old as the building itself and are covered in stains and ingrained dirt. As are the chairs in some of the rooms - you might want to put a towel on them before sitting. For those rooms still awaiting a fresh lick of paint, best of luck - paint peeling off the ceilings, grubby mouldy bathroom tiles, poorly/incorrectly fitting bath taps (almost as if they used what they had out the back rather than go out and buy the correct one) and general dirtiness. Fortunately I stay here for business rather than leisure (it's close to the office) otherwise I'd not be so accommodating. After coming here on and off for over 4 years, the restaurant menu remains very disappointing (unless your like run-of-the-mill pub grub) and terribly bland. This is listed as a 4* hotel after all... 2 stars at best. Overall a good stay with comfortable beds and a good selection of drinks from the bar, but I wouldn't stay here for pleasure. There are similar hotels in the area for less and, although they may have been awarded fewer stars, are just the same quality as The Hampshire Court.
