Guajillo’s The Shortcut to Mexico

First time and food was delish, more Mex and less Tex which is hard to come by in North San Antonio. For those not used to spicy food caution on what you order. Was craving authentic Mexican food and it delivered! I will be back!

We had been here years ago and loved it, so decided to visit it again with children this time. Food was great, servers friendly and so attentive with us.. we loved it.. UNTIL the very end don't know if it was manager (a bald white guy)litterly gathered servers at the end of bar and was cussing and screaming at them.. he shouldn't be treating any one that way I don't care what the problem was, or at least go somewhere where guests aren't eating.. husband said everything was great up till that point... We were just sitting and enjoying our drinks and at that point asked for recite to pay and leave. We were no longer comfortable.

Parking can be a challenge. Service was good. The Birra Lamb soup is so good, especially on a cold day. The soup have lots of flavor. The lamb nice and tender, like it should be. The chilli rellenos is good. I’m not a fan of corn tortilla, but I will eat it from this place.

Chips n salsa, amazing! Paloma, perfect! I took two to go. Tortilla soup and tacos were also great. Everything was so simple and delicious.

Always great service and staff. Food is always hot and delicious. Love this place. Parking: Difficult only during lunch and supper times. There's plenty of parking behind the restaurant.

Not a pleasant visit. Whether it's more or less authentic, I don't have the experience to say. I just know that the food was not enjoyable. The tortilla soup, never seen anything like it. An extremely dark broth with an odd flavor, full of shredded chicken (not inherently a bad thing) but nothing else. Looked like runny molé. Some type of meatball dish. The flavors were just all wrong. I really don't have the words to describe everything. Just, all off flavors and trying to be...unique I guess? With the dishes. Sorry I know Im not much help here. Just recommend avoiding this place.
