Great selection of food and always hot. Nice portion size too.
I had green beans, bread, and ham served in a delicious and rustic style. It was a little pricy, but it was okay considering you are at an amusement park. The staff was kind and gave you your right order. Vegetarian options: It has a large amount of meat but the vegetables were delicious.
Food looks rather gross, way over cooked. Spegetti with cheddar and refried beans. Looks bad. Still, i was with a group so i had little say. I was so right. It was all disgusting. Over cooked over priced they lack a chef. Look at the pictures Grain and Grill people the food look bad. Mom could do much better in the hotel room with a hot plate and a microwave. Appears to be poor chefs with giant egos.
We went in to get their "From the Orchard" meal. A combination of fried apples sitting on top of a waffle, beside a bed of cinnamon whipped cream. We were not greeted and the workers were all grumpy.. When we ordered "From the Orchard", we were rudely told that it would be a 5 minute wait. Okay cool, we had no problem with waiting, it's rainy right now anyway. However, we were left without ANY direction whatsoever where to wait at. We went up to the cashier and informed him of what we ordered. He told us to just go "wait up against the wall". After we waited, a random staff member came around the corner and placed the plate in front of us onto the counter. Then the staff member walked away, without a single word. We grabbed our plate and asked for syrup, but they said that they "didn't have any". Who serves waffles without syrup?! Once we sat down to eat, the waffle itself was room temperature. The apples were barely warm. The whipped cream was whipped cream, probably the "best" thing that was on our meal.
It was not good. I’m not usually a food critic but I paid 30 dollars for this and it tasted like school food. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor. The meatballs were lukewarm at best. Don’t eat here!!!!!!!!!!!1
Grain and grill is absolutely horrible, it was wonderful when it first opened, but as time goes on it is very inconsistent. You no longer get to pick your own sauce and they put it on the meat, if you would like your own sauce it cost extra. There is always at least one of the entrees out and they will tell you a time to come back, but it will be out again. The beef taste great, the pork is now mixed with pasta, the chicken is a bit chewy, and I have not tried the shrimp yet. Once they run out of sides, they are out, there are no substitutions allowed and no accomodations made for allergies or special diets. But, even after all these changes I still try to eat here. This last time, however, is official my last because the service is the complete worst out of all the restaurants in the park. I really do hope grain and grill gets shut down and replaced with something better or at least a manager that cares. Dietary restrictions: Grain and grill does not adhere to kings island policies and will not accommodate dietary restrictions.
Decent food, probably not worth it for the price without dining plan.
