Gourmet and Company

I always have such a great experience at Gourmet. It is a fun, but elegant place to take family and friends for lunch or dinner. I haven’t gotten a bad meal yet! Definitely tru a cookie or two before heading out!

Went there for a birthday dinner. My wife and I both had scallops, good. She had 4 oz steak, good. I had the burger, not good. I ordered medium well. I received it well. I said that's fine, I ate it anyway. Don't know if it was the Burger meat or the sauce. Food quality was not good or outdated. I had to go to bathroom before we even left restaurant. And by the time I got home, it was all out of me. Was disappointed, it was a birthday dinner, you're paying for gourmet meal. Besides that, service was great, the other entrees were awesome.

We had our firm Christmas party here this year. The food was amazing and the staff were so attentive to each of us!

Dined here 12/28. The place is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Our waiter was outstanding. The food was pretty good. Started with a cheese board that had three very small servings of cheese with just a little smear of jam and honey. It was good but a little too small. My partner enjoyed the shrimp and scallops, commented the andouille gravy was like a rich bean soup. I tried the daily special of a 16 oz. veal chop. About 1/4 of it was tough to cut and chew. The place is relatively quiet which I much prefer to the usual noisy places. Aside from a couple of minor gripes, overall a positive and enjoyable experience. If you have a drink or two, share an appetizer, and each have an entree, it'll cost you around $200 or so for a couple. We'll go again and I recommend you try it.

Best food ever. Montcastle and Reuben are the best. Squash soup and bananas foster were next level

I love this place. A little pricey, but that's what I expect for great food and service. I always get the apricot tea. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the items on the menu. I got the cornbread with the various jams and it was excellent. The grouper and roasted vegetables were also excellent.

I so appreciate how much G&C cares about their sourcing. They do such a great job and the quality of their ingredients really shines through. Everything they serve is great but I often struggle to order anything else besides the burger - easily the best burger in JC, possibly the state.
