Golden Pearl Restaurant

I did a take out order - I can pick it up instead of ordering from my usual skip the dishes place. It was almost inedible!! Chicken and cashews was chicken and onion and had a weird vinager taste. Chow mein and everything else was just greasy! So disappointing. Never again, this was once my go to.

We have done pick-up for 30 years here. The last time was disappointing food quality. The mushroom fried rice was all stuck together and the almond chicken was just OK. They claim they haven't changed their cook. But it definitely was not as good as before.

I have to say how impressed I am with the quality of the food here. I was worried after reading some reviews... However Golden Pearl impressed me with the flavourful Won Ton soup, tender Sweet and Sour Pork, and amazingly tasty ginger beef. To top it off, their Chow Mein was "bussing" (to use my kids vernacular). Highly recommend visiting Golden Pearl!

Vegetarian options: This place actually has a good little selection of vegetarian food and they seem to understand the importance of it. Sometimes I go for Chinese food and they don’t really understand what vegetarian food even consist of including such things as soup stock, etc..

Great flavours, generous portions, and inexpensive.

I was eager to eat soup last Thursday and wanted to try something different from my fave corn-chicken soup so s rry that the fish maw-crab soup tasted like it's plastic fish I was eating ... no-bueno

We pick up our order staff excellent and the food was great. The best sweet and sour boneless pork I had in a long time
