I got pork lo mein and pot stickers to go. The lo mein helping was huge! Not much flavor, that was a little disappointing, but the texture of the noodles was chewy and wonderful. Definitely comfort food. And the potstickers were as amazing as the reviews said. They are about the side of my entire palm, with thick chewy dough and a massive dollop of yummy pork filling. I could only eat two and some of the lo mein before I was full. The interior of the place could do with a little update. There is a lot of seating though it’s not a very big inside.
My CTRAN lunch attendees enjoyed going here. The food was great and the prices were more to our liking!! We'll be going back!!
It's the best Chinese food you will find in Vancouver area. Not that there is much competition but after trying quite a few places Golden City has been the most consistent. Prices and amount of food you get is a big plus. They tend to be a bit mild on the spiciness. Our favorites are the General tso chicken, sesame beef, chicken lo-mein.
Worse ever. Wrong order. Bad food, stay away.
so so so so good!! i would consider it one of the best chinese restaurants in the Vancouver area! i ordered three things, crab puffs, beef with broccoli, and hot and sour soup, all of which came out to about $27 after tip! i ordered on the phone for pickup and it was super easy to place the order the crab puffs are the perfect texture and taste along with the sweet and sour sauce that had a small dollop of mustard in it which was interesting but good! the beef with broccoli also came with a side of white rice which is included with the dish. the beef was nice and tender and the broccoli still had crunch even after sitting in steam for a little. they also included carrots which added a pop of color and more veggies! the hot and sour soup was good but not the best. in my opinion it tasted like there was a little too much vinegar in it and became super sour and a bit gelatinous??? but it was still super yummy and a good price for quite a large serving!! overall i really like this place, the service was amazing and the girl i spoke to on the phone was patient and super kind. 4.5/5 stars
We bought takeout on January 25th. We were very disappointed. The food was horrible. We will not be going nor ordering takeout. We don't know if they changed ownership or cooks but we were not happy with the food. Haven't been in a long time but the food is good. I liked that they will tailor the spiciness to how you like it. Really liked the sesame beef. Prices have increased like elsewhere. Not everything is listed on the menu, they can make chow meins, chop suey, egg foo young and other items just ask.
