Our waitress Diamond was amazing.
I had such a memorable night a Georgia Brown. Very welcoming place, awesome peach martinis to put our table in the right mood. Very kind staff, extremely generous portion, full of flavor. I was not able to finish the guambo which never happened to me before. Phenomenal, no question on why Georgia Brown is a local institution.
A great take on Southern Comfort food with a more modern twist. Went with a group of 10 people, no one had a bad meal. The food was fantastic. The restaurant knows what it wants to do and executes it very well.
20% tip is automatically added and it shows. Ages between checks on the table - even with bottles of water for the table, we were continually out. (Server didn’t even have a real name on the check.) Food was good but nothing exceptional. Cornbread was very sweet; perlau taste came from the proteins but rice itself was bland. Would definitely try myriad of other places before coming back here.
I took a group from the Lehigh Valley in PA for a weekend trip to DC and we ate at Georgia Brown's last Saturday evening. I loved the atmosphere in the music, the decor was great, and the music just suited this place. I had a Kansas City Shuffle for a cocktail which was amazing, and had a delicious entree (Charleston Perlau) which I would recommend to everyone. I also split the fried tomatoes which were excellent. Definitely enjoyed my time there and would definitely go back!
Got charged for 20% gratuity on our bill and then our server asked us to leave more. Really predatory practice and it left a very bad taste afterwards. Please actually pay your workers. Otherwise food was alright but not Michelin guide good.
