I have so much great to say about this restaurant but I won't be back because the music was so painfully loud. The prices were reasonable, food was great, service was great (and fast) and the restaurant is clean and has beautiful art and woodwork. The music was so loud that it was painful. I didn't request that they turn it down because I assume it was because of me being an old lady. But if you have sensory issues I highly recommend getting takeout instead. I really enjoyed the Beef Toastie. I ordered extra horseradish sauce. And the sugar snap peas on the Asian Hangover were spectacular.
5.0* (out of 5) Food: 5* Atmosphere: 5* Value: 5* Service: 5* 03/30/2024 Knowing our affinity to unique restaurants, especially those that have been featured on TV specials, our sister-in-law mentioned this restaurant to us when we arrived in Minneapolis for our latest visit to our son's house. I immediately entered it in my 'Want to Go' list - and since our son and his fiancé also enjoy unique food, we found ourselves making reservations for dinner later that weekend. I have to admit a bit of apprehension when we first walked in, as it appeared to be a very high-end restaurant...and you know what that means: $$$$. Once the menus were distributed and I got my first look at the pricing, my stress levels dissipated. In the end, I gave Value a 5* rating (a rarity for me). While the portions were a little small (I'd say reasonable...I had room for dessert and didn't leave feeling stuffed), the pricing was also what I would consider reasonable - especially given the quality of the food. So, let's get into the good stuff...the delicious food! I wasn't sure that we could eat appetizers in addition to our main courses, but others at the table thought better, so we started with an order of Onion Rings (see pictures) and Bacon Onion Dip (see picture). Both of them were delicious and are highly recommended! The dip was so creamy, yet light at the same time and the onion rings were some of the best I've had - golden brown appearance, they bit off cleanly with the rest of the ring remaining intact and a great ratio of batter to onion. For our main courses, I ordered the Beef Rib Toastie (see picture) and others ordered the Steak Sandwich (see picture), Asian Hangover (see picture), Braised Beef Rib (see picture) and Crispy Chicken (see picture). All of them had great reviews from our wonderful server, Peyton - and all are highly recommended. If you follow my reviews, you know that we usually all order different things at our table and share samples - so I can tell you firsthand that all of them were delicious! The desserts all looked wonderful also, but we resisted - so that will have to be the subject of a future review... 1st time at the restaurant and we couldn't have had a better time. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and took pride in their concept and execution. The owner took part in pur experience, and this was a highlight. Food quality = outstanding!
Such a great place! The food was amazing, the service was kind and helpful (I am gluten free and our waiter was super helpful), and I loved the design of the place. You can tell the owners love food and want the customers to love what they make! Unique flavors and great vibes!
While the food was decent to just OK, we really enjoyed the Pretzel Bun and Onion Rings... the 5 Spice Pork (Asian Hangover) was under seasoned (you could barely taste the 5 Spice), and the Prime Rib (aged 45 days) with Dragon Milk Gravy was kinda blah (you didn't get even a hint of Dragon Milk in the gravy)... the most annoying part of the entire experience was getting the bill as seeing a 4% upcharge if you pay with a card. I get recouping credit card processing fees, but those fees generally are 2.75% or less, not 4%. This fee was also not disclosed. Also, the wait staff was totally in the weeds pretty much the entire time we were there. She did a decent job balancing everything, though when you're run between about 15 or so tables... it's going to be lacking.
The food was so incredibly flavorful, and was the perfect sized portion. I was happy to pay the $17-20 per dish price tag because it was so delicious. We ate somewhere nearby and the prices were outrageous for a few apps. This was well worth the cost. I got the Asian hangover- (which is gluten and dairy free). The pork just fell apart and melted and had a lovely amount of sauce to plain rice ratio (super important) Hubs got the steak sandwich and loved it. He’s pretty picky about his food and he really enjoyed how soft and melt in your mouth the meat was. Side note- we walked in on a Thursday around 5:30pm and they told us it would be an hour wait for a table but since we were willing to eat at the bar, we got in right away. So heads up- it’s a busy place.
Awesome staff and phenomenal food! I can not wait to come back. Fried pickles were thinly sliced and the breading was perfect. Dragon burger great quality meat. If you like spice order extra of the peppers.
