Gatley Tandoori Takeaway

Just had an Uber eats delivery; after seeing good reviews we were hopeful, as this restaurant has been going since I was a child. But honestly so disappointing; a chicken tikka masala which you’d think had been prepared for a kid, literally lacked any flavour whatsoever. Completely bland, not a spice had touched it. Just a shame that they’re clearly knocking out food for the English palette and not authentic flavours. Saag aloo was semi decent, pilau rice overcooked and naan bread was probably the worst I’ve ever had, can get better from a shop. Massive shame, so disappointing.

Not been for a while but we were glad to revisit. The food was outstanding, Curry’s were tasty and mixed grill was cooked to perfection. I wasn’t charged anything to bring my own alcohol which is a great gesture and the chips taste like homemade ones. The service was also excellent.

Ordered a delivery online through Ubereats. The app told me the food had arrived although it had not. I rang Gately Tandoori and they told me that they could not contact the driver. And that they would ring me back with more information. A while passed so I rang back. They told me I could only speak to Ubereats about it and then they went on a long rant about how often their ubereats drivers don't deliver orders. I had to hang up. Lost out on a lot of money with no apology or consideration from the takeaway. Won't be eating there again and would not recommend especially delivery.

After being told by the waiter that this is the "busiest Indian restaurant within the Stockport / Cheadle / Gatley area", I expected the food to be amazing... but it was not. Average quality (nothing to boast about) and certainly not good value for money either. I've had much better food in other Indian restaurants within the area so I doubt I will be back any time soon.
