Busy garden centre. Prices are on the steep side. Restaurant is too small and unable to cope with volume of trade. There are better centres available in the area.
The garden centre is a nice browse for something special. Always find it a but on the expensive side. Thd cafe is a nice enough place but expensive and there's always been a long queue when we visited. Going for afternoon tea as a gift, so we will see what that's like. EDIT afternoon tea was ok despite been stiffed for an extra sandwich which was later refunded by the manager after we questioned it. Just keep an eye on your bill. EDIT called this afternoon for a cuppa. Still nice enough, still expensive, still a queue. EDIT still as above.
the cafe here looks very nice as does the food. It's a real shame that the hygiene on the front food counter lets it down badly. All the cakes are left open at the Front where everybody queues to get served and are right next to where everyone breathes on them. I was stood behind 2 people who were Coughing all over the food as they moved along the queue. The food needs some kind of front cover or lift up flaps to keep away germs and flies etc. Won't be buying food here again until I see an improvement in standards. UPDATE 8th April 2024 so I visited the garden centre again today and while there took a look in the cafe. Sad to report that absolutely nothing has changed, all food is still open and not covered. With long queues filling past it. Don’t be surprised if you catch a virus after eating here.
Loads of choice. Lovely staff who were very helpful to us novice gardeners. Bought shrubs which they delivered as arranged at a very reasonable price
