Excellent lunch, generous portions and friendly service. Will return when in the area.
Absolutely top-notch authentic Mexican food. Outdoor seating when the weather permits. I am blown away by one of their ceviches called “Vuelve a la Vida”. I order it every time. Be sure to order a dish that comes with rice and refried beans. Their refried beans are to die for! This is a 6 star review, but Google only allows me to put 5 stars. The food is consistently delicious and I always have a great experience at Gardenia’s.
A hidden gem in the old part of Nanuet township. The food is of high quality while the price is low, and they give you plenty of free bites too, e.g. a generous serving of tortilla chips and salsa is presented on the table as soon as you sit down. For a true vegetarian there isn't much on offer, while yours truly can tolerate fish and seafood every now and then, and boy what a treat when one orders the Caldo de Mariscos! In a thick tomato based broth swim generous helpings of jumbo shrimp, mussels, fish chunks and squid slices. I usually order this soup as my main, and the portion is always larger than my stomach, esp. when it comes with 4 free tortillas (handmade, warm and delicious). Last time we visited, my son ordered the Plato de Carnitas (upon the waitress's recommendation) and it was much more substantial than he had thought - he could barely move after finishing the plate! The restaurant is tastefully decorated, with lots of indoor and outdoor seatings.
The food was great, the service was excellent, and the environment was perfect. I had Quesobirria tacos & tostadas, and they were great. My wife had the steak and enchiladas, she loved them. Here lies the problem, I have lived in Nanuet for over 12 years and have never stopped here till today, never really realized this place was here till today. And it was bcuz of a google search that I discovered this plac. Why? Trying to figure why, we haven't seen this restaurant and we pass here daily. I have to say that it's the signage, my wife and I believe that the sign is not strategic, coming from route 59 you cannot tell what kind of restaurant it is. And when you come from the opposite direction you cannot see the restaurant till you are passing it. I honestly think this restaurant can be very successful and popping if it had a better sign describing that it's a Mexican restaurant, I would 3ven pit q little more umph in that sign, bcuz it will pay off. There really isn't anything like this restaurant in the immediate area. Their happy hour is great, 2 for 1 Margarita specials and food specials, let's support our local restaurants and let's make this establishment know to the community, we can make them strive while simultaneously 3njoy the establishment. Vegetarian options: They have em! Parking: No issues with parking. Kid-friendliness: Wonderful environment. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the ground floor, no issues for wheelchairs
The best margarita (had frozen coconut) around.
Best Mexican restaurant in the area. Food is always solid and service is great
