Today, I went to Gail's bakery. I was having a hard time choosing a dessert because the chocolate cheesecake I usually get was sold out. A friendly Polish-Italian girl staff noticed my dilemma. I could tell I was a regular customer, loyal to that chocolate cake only x Star kindly offered me a nice pastry, which was a pleasant surprise. I tried the pastry she recommended, and it was delicious. She provided excellent customer service, making me feel welcomed. I appreciated that she treated everyone warmly, regardless of their skin color or cultural background. Next time, I will trust her recommendation when buying pastry. She has earned my trust with her kindness and helpfulness.
I forgot my card and wanted to pay cash. They don’t accept cash payments, which is absolutely inconvenient. What if the elderly visit your cafe and they don’t understand contactless/card payments? Anyway, I went to MOST after. It’s a shame because Gail has some nice food, just the service is bad.
Fresh bakery and coffee, elevate our day!
Picked a lovely looking fresh chocolate muffin from the counter with gooey chocolate, served a stale one from the back shelf instead :(
Baked goods all look of the best quality however I'd advise not to buy mid afternoon- the sourdough loaf was so dry we had to toast it - same for the pain au raisin and cinammon bun fell apart. For about £14 it's not good enough. Shall resume shopping on the market stall bakeries. Also chaos Saturday with payment issues- someone charged 3 times apparently
First time in Gail's and it was a great experience. Wasn't really looking forward to it as it seemed a bit cramped inside and couldn't really see the menu from outside. Had the baked eggs with bacon which were fantastic, pleasantly surprised.
Love this location, Lorraine is always so friendly and helpful Great selection of freshly made goods Highly recommended
