Beautiful artisan chocolate shop. The atmosphere from the moment you walk in is fantasic- the shop employees acknowledge you with a friendly "hello" and you are emersed in the delicious smell of fresh chocolate. They have a great variety of chocolates, truffles, chocolate-covered items, and too many speciality chocolates to name! They have a viewing window where you can see the in-house process. They have samples at the front register. The dark chocolate is my favorite. *An awesome aspect of this shop is they take great care in ensuring their chocolate is ethically sourced. They do their best to track the supply chain of the cocoa to avoid human exploitation.* This taken into consideration drives up the cost of the products, which are expensive, but in paying the higher costs you are supporting a local business, it's staff to earn a liveable wage and not contributing to the exploitation of children and cocoa farmers in other nations. This makes it a worthwhile purchase in my opinion. There is paid/free street parking (depending on the time and day of the week) as well as free residential parking a few blocks away. The store is ADA accessible and as to be assumed, the products accomodate vegetarian dietary needs.

Gail is a chocolate wizard who knows how to make the perfect blends of different flavors to send your taste buds on a magical trip. I always thought chocolate shops were 'eh', but as soon as I bit into a piece of perfectly balanced cinnamon/cayenne chocolate, I knew my life had changed forever. I'll be back for more!

Gail's single-origin chocolates are amazing! We travel here from Rockford frequently to visit the shop, and have for several years. Everyone is friendly, and you can actually watch the chocolates being made.

I’ve had Gail Ambrosius chocolates for years (my favorite gift to receive!) and never knew they had a store front. I was so excited to stumble upon their shop. It was fun getting to pick out chocolate truffles! I normally get their pre packaged assortment boxes, which appear to be carefully curated, but it’s fun to mix things up. The shop was clean and the employees were helpful and welcoming! They even had a free sample that day! Their chocolates are unique, flavorful, and simply the best I’ve had in Madison. Love these chocolates and very excited to return to the storefront!

Only because it's pricey. The chocolate is really good and inventive, but coming from a bigger city, not worth the high prices.

It's simply the very best dark chocolate around.

The best chocolates I have ever had, yes they are a little pricey but for the authentic hand-made quality, personality, and real ingredients, I'd say it's worth it. Bought a box with my mom and the floral flavors were a wonderful treat to my senses. I was surprised to see how low in sugars they were despite the amazing taste.
