Friendly Waves

Went for an early dinner today. The food was outstanding. Had the Poke Rice Bowl… fish incredibly delicious as were the garden fresh greens that were included… my husband had a burger and he said it was delicious and huge. Our server Matt was awesome with his suggestions and the host/helper Kenui was the nicest, most friendly young man. The atmosphere was so comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommend!!!

We cannot recommend Friendly Waves enough for your next private party or just for a meal! Samson and his whole team went above and beyond for our wedding welcome party. All of our guests raved about the food. Samson was so easy to work with via email to arrange the party. The atmosphere at Friendly Waves was perfect for our celebration, with its central Old Koloa location and relaxed ambiance. Samson and his team ensured that every detail was taken care of, from the beautiful setup to the impeccable service throughout the evening. The staff’s attentiveness and warmth added to the overall experience, making everyone feel welcomed and appreciated. So good we went there twice on vacation. Closed Wednesdays. Get the wedge salad. The best I've ever had. Friendly great servers. Must stop

Traveling with gluten-free sensitive family is challenging for this style of food. I was recommended this place by family members in Oahu so we had to go. I called them and they stated that everything was gluten-free but the rolls. Carnitas, and ? They said they didn't have any gf rolls but will accommodate as a bowl or plate. My moco burger with a gluten full bun was awesome. My only problem is that our family is not big on sports on many tvs. Otherwise it's awesome. Mahalo

Fish sandwich so good

We have been coming to this part of Kauai for 35 years and are so happy to have Friendly Waves in Koloa! Chef Samson is top of the line and prepares amazing food. His staff is efficient and friendly. Great place for lunch, happy hour, or dinner. Great location and atmosphere up in the trees with big open windows.

the fish sandwiches were indeed fresh and very tasty. we ordered the large poke nachos $30 for the table. the color of the fish was pale, fish had zero flavor, asked for salsa and soy sauce. the salsa had no flavor. it was sad but we left some of the poke uneaten.
