The charming, award winning, Franklin Cider Mill in Bloomfield Township, was founded in 1837 as a gristmill, evolved with time. As farmers ventured west for larger plots, the land transformed into apple orchards. In the 1900s, the mill shifted gears, becoming an apple cider mill. Today, spanning almost two centuries, it stands as a National Historic Site. Operating seasonally, the mill starts welcoming visitors on the Saturday before Labor Day and bids farewell on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. With accolades for our cider and warm donuts, we offer Michigan's premier apples, a delightful assortment of breads, pies, and the renowned Franklin's Favorites - an ensemble of preserves, honey, maple syrup, salsas, cheeses, and meats.
