Beautiful place ang and amazing food
It was a great experience . I don't wanna forget about it thank you guys for your good service 👍
The perfect place for our anniversary brunch. Appetizers were excellent. Entrees even better.
It been a while since I’ve had the “wow” sensation after every bite at an Italian restaurant, defiantly not easy but they manage to pull it off with EVERY dish I tried at the restaurant. I can’t wait I go back.
Don’t usually do reviews, but restaurant experience is worth mentioning. Food is great, service is excellent , and atmosphere is very classy and comfortable. I highly recommend this place. The view is very pleasant and comfortable on the balcony. Price Very reasonable.
Waiters take advantage of students, never returned my check and kept the change!!!
We had a wonderful dinner at Fiola Mare. My favorite was the Ama Ebi Shrimp Bucatini. The sauce is very rich, and the shrimp, only half cooked, melts into it. What a fantastic way to use the shrimp to enrich the sauce! For dessert, we had a lemon shaped cake. It was very cute and tasty!
The food here is expensive but decent. I’m not sure that the food is worth the price but I will admit that it is good. We’ve been here a few times before.
Today, my pregnant wife and I were walking in the area. My wife attempted to use the restroom and she was stopped by the host on the way in. The host told her “do you know how much toilet paper costs? If you owned a restaurant you would understand”. He then took my wife outside and directed her to the nearest Starbucks.
Seriously? I’m pretty sure a Michelin restaurant does pretty well and can afford toilet paper. I understand that a restaurant can’t just open its doors to the public to use the restroom (especially in a high foot traffic area), but given this particular circumstance I think that an exception could be made.
For context, my wife was well dressed and put together. Will never come back here.
I went here tonight for the first time and I can definitely see why Fiola Mare has a Michelin star. I loved the food, ambiance, service !
We ordered half a dozen oysters as an appetizer - very fresh. We also shared the grilled calamari; so amazing and tender! it came with a chili oil on top, along with garlic , plus salsa verde and another sauce on the side (it had olives, capers, red pepper). the chili oil alone would’ve satisfied me marvelously, but surprisingly, adding a dollop of the two sauces on top of the calamari makes it into the perfect bite.
For my main entree, I got the Ama Ebi Shrimp Bucatini pasta, which was the star of the show! ⭐️ I’m obsessed with the sauce that’s mixed with hokkaido uni, it’s SO decadent and has an umami flavor. the shrimps were rich too and enhanced the flavors. I’m honestly not a huge pasta fanatic, but this was the BEST pasta I’ve ever had in my life !! only thing that would’ve made it better was if it wasn’t as al dente, but I should’ve clarified my personal preference when ordering.
My partner got Testa Coda di manzo - incredible! the best part was the most tender oxtail we’ve ever had, which melts in your mouth. the beef cheek was also great, very interesting texture that’s hard to describe
for dessert, we got tiramisu it was so delicious and not too sweet! you can really taste the coffee, which was a nice surprise. the cream on top of the tiramisu had like an ice cream texture and its flavor contrasted so well with the strong coffee flavor at the bottom. they also gave us a tasty little lemon cake for my partner’s birthday.
I didn’t get our waiter’s name, but he was the tall, older man. he was very attentive (checked in frequently), friendly (told us about a show from ‘70s), and had great recommendations especially when we were indecisive. when ordering, he described the items in grand detail, so we could tell he’s very passionate about food and we were impressed with his knowledge.
all in all, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely come here again! it’s expensive but worth it, especially if you’re celebrating for an occasion. thank you !!
Fiola Mare, located on the Georgetown waterfront, is an exquisite seafood spot. The atmosphere is romantic, with its dim lighting and elegant décor. Being on the water is a vibe I love.
We started with the oysters, which were impeccably fresh and briny. The pasta we had was a luxurious mix of Key West shrimp, lobster, calamari, octopus, mussels, tautog, and bluefin tuna, all swimming around in a rich marinara brodetto. We also had Fagioli Uccelletto, a platter of San Marzano tomatoes, Vermont butter, crispy guanciale, and savory cabbage, served with pane fritto for dipping. And don’t forget the ricotta donuts for dessert.
Fiola Mare is an ideal spot for impeccable service and fabulous and creative seafood.
My husband and I went to this restaurant when visiting D.C., the food was great, a bit pricey but I could still find vegetarian/vegan options in the menu as well as seafood options which was great, however the service was TERRIBLE and I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone. When the server was taking our order, she mentioned one of our plates comes with a side so we chose one, but when we got the check we were charged for the side and also $10 for bottled water which we did not get and only had tap water, when I mentioned that to her she apologized and brought me another check which was MORE than the previous one! this time, instead of the bottled water she had charged us for bread which again she didn’t mention we would be charged for or I wouldn’t have ordered it, I told her about this discrepancy and asked her why the total is actually more than the other check and asked to see the previous check to compare, she refused and instead of giving me an answer she said the other one was for another table!!
So even though the food was good I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you don’t mind being ripped off and lied to.
Fiola Mare is simply spectacular! The food was excellent—my salmon was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I also tried the eggplant dish, which was incredibly tasty. For dessert, the tiramisu was the perfect choice—fresh and delicious. The service was top-notch, making the entire experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a high-quality dining experience!
Ate outside here tonight, and really enjoyed every bit of it. Got seated right at sunset, and had an amazing view of the sun dipping below the horizon over the Potomac.
Service was excellent. Our server was passionate about his job and his company. Really great to see that in people. He took care of us, with the help of his team, the whole night.
The food was fabulous. Had the house made bread (basically a croissant in roll form), porcini mushroom soup, hamachi crudo, spaghetti with clams, and the lobster ravioli. Everything was perfect. Seriously. Nothing was over or under seasoned. The cooked items were cooked correctly, including the lobster. For me, the standout was the crudo. The wife praised her lobster ravioli, and she was right.
Drinks: she got the champagne. I went with their barrel aged Manhattan. Both were top notch.
There's no denying this place is going to set you back a few bucks. What I like about it, on top of everything I've listed, is that they 100% can justify their prices with their quality as their bond.
