Ok. When the hubs found out that a Fat Burger opened up in Elk Grove, he was set on driving the extra miles to try it out. Having grew up in LA, he is no stranger to the legendary Fat Burger. The first Fat Burger hamburger stand started in 1947 in LA. Did the Elk Grove location live up to the Fat Burger iconic burgers, chili fries, and onion rings?!? Yes, they did!
We ordered two original burgers (one with cheese) with all the regular fixings, chili fries, onion rings, and fountain drinks. The burgers were 1/3 pound patties, the patties were seasoned well. Great flavors, juicy patty. But they could be more generous with the fixings. A bit more lettuce wouldn’t hurt. The onion rings had a crisp batter. Yum. The chili was tasty, good flavor. Thick consistency. It’s beanless. Everything was served hot. For fountain drink choices, they offer 3 iced tea flavors made with cane sugar. That scored big points with me since I can’t have HFCS.
They are located in a strip mall. It’s counter service. The place like most eateries now have a smaller dining rooms than prior builds. May not be ideal for large group dining. And regarding pricing, it’s comparable to fast food ( FF), but it ain’t fast food. They actually take the time to cook the food when ordered. So don’t expect FF speed. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t sloooow but not drive thru fast.
Donald is AWESOME!!! Not only did he remember me, he remembered my order. It was cooked to order and fries were right from the fryer!
I guess new management was the key!
My twin & I stop here every time we drive home to the central valley leaving sacramento. We always pile up on the hot wings and burgers for the journey south. The owner might be the friendliest person in town and the same guy is on the grill whenever we pass through. Consistency in the kitchen is a plus and the food is 9/10 for a small burger stand.
Hands down the best burger joint around. The burgers are made to order and are excellently crafted. We drive one hour to enjoy a FatBurger and it certainly does not disappoint. I will not say it’s better than In-N-Out or Five Guys as they all have a place in this world but it is very good. The staff here is very friendly and fast. Be prepared to wait a bit as everything is made to order but the wait is definitely worth it. A++ Having the option to order wings is a plus.
Burgers are great, better than the original owners. The reopening did wonders
We finally tried this place after we heard it was under new management and had better reviews and so glad we did. Burger and fries were good and fresh and their gluten free buns are good too. Limited time chicken tenders were not the best could use more seasoning kinda bland. We will definitely be back!!
dont try their shakes. they make it like concrete.
What a fantastic experience. Excellent food, amazing service, and what a great staff. Well run and a great burger.
When I walked in I was greeted. The gentleman who took my order was nice. Food came out pretty fast but there wasn’t that many people in there around this time. There’s different sizes you can get how big you want your burger. I got the large. Hamburger was medium rare but wasn’t too bad. It tasted kinda bland Not a big fan of the ranch dressing they had. The sweet potato fries tasted okay. Overall A B. Lemonade was very good. I always make Arnold Palmers when there’s both lemonade and sweet tea and their lemonade just may be the best I’ve had in a really long time. It paired wonderfully with the mean. 8 out of 10. Will just come again-for the lemonade that is. Oh and for good eaters out there, there is a wall of the triple king challenge they have every month. I don’t know the prize so would have to ask because I didn’t get a chance to. I also hear their shakes are good and also have vegan options
Update: fresh and yummy burgers. We are so happy this place reopened. We were helped by Donald who has a wonderful personality and great customer service. He took good care of us while we were there. Food came out quick, burgers were perfect and fries were fresh! No complaints. We will definitely be returning.
Excellent burgers and service. The dine in section is a bit small but the food is worth it.
So Glad you are back open ! I'm sitting here waiting for my order and the young man Kyle who took my order was so great! He was kind and professional! Thanks for the great custome service with a smile! We will be back! Janice C
This is a must try place! Amazing quality food! Perfect on the orders, service top notch, good choices and best of all good prices! Thank you!
Great customer service. A large variety of burgers made your way.
Stopped by the newly reopened Fatburger last Sunday. We were promptly and pleasantly greeted upon our arrival. Menu selections for burgers were same as previous Fatburger, which is great because I loved this place. Our food came out quickly. My shake arrived first, as expected, followed by our burgers and fries. Everything was great. We will definitely be back!
I just left here. Food was great, service was quick and friendly! 5 stars! I gave previous owners/management 3 or 4 tries and each time service/wait was horrible. Not the case today! Very glad they reopened with new management and I am glad I did give them another shot.
Best burgers in town as of last week great atmosphere awesome ownership this place is the best 5💥💥💥💥💥star!! 💯🔥💯🔥💯🔥💯
Absolutely delicious! Great service. Will be back very SOON.
Met the new owner, great guy and very kind, all the employees are super chill and friendly. I only had the wings since I’m not a burger guy. Would recommend to any group of friend’s trying to get a quick bite.
They recently reopened under new management. We were greeted by Donald, he was friendly and helpful and took our order immediately. The Double King cheeseburger was fantastic and the fries were hot! I’m so excited it’s open again.
