Excellent food, great customer service. We will definitely be coming back.
A no frills experience with just really good food and excellent service! The owner is incredibly personal and takes great pride in the product he offers. 100% recommend!
This is the best BBQ joint in Lewisville, always hot and fresh food and friendly, casual atmosphere. Go in, get some brisket, jalapeno sausage, mac and cheese and spicy beans and eat your heart out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Wonderful service. Great food 2 👍👍up and more loved it most try the rolls and the ribs were delicious they fell off the 🦴bone like butter 💕
Traveling through on I-35 and hopped off for some authentic TX BBQ. So glad we found Fat Cow! Service was great, food delicious and restaurant very clean. Do yourself a favor and get the BBQ sliders on homemade yeast rolls 🐽🤤
This place is not only awesome but a hidden gem. With so many BBQ spots around, this one does stand out in many different ways, the taste of the brisket alone will have you coming back for more, and the smoked chicken is just as amazing! Want to try something different? I recommend the Nachos or the fat japs! Both are good for something less than traditional. Come hunrgy if you order the stuffed spud!
Amazing BBQ Experience at The Fat Cow!
If you're a BBQ lover, this place is an absolute must-visit! From the moment we took our first bite, we knew we’d found our new favorite BBQ spot. The ribs were perfection – tender, juicy, and literally falling off the bone. The brisket? Hands down, one of the best we've ever tasted. It's no wonder The Fat Cow is hailed as the best BBQ in Denton County! Every bite was packed with smoky, savory goodness that left us wanting more. This will definitely be our go-to BBQ spot from now on. Highly recommend!
Al is a cool mfer, we joke and laugh and Noone gets butt hurt, he is a real real real good dude, I wish I knew him outside fat cow
The food is so damned good!!!! Al is everyone's pal, he really does care about the way you feel, he makes you laugh and interacts with each and every single person that walks through that door, love this dude
I for one will always come back here
Great food & great service. The pulled pork was amazing!
First time coming here! Let me tell y’all! Their meat was tremendously delicious, any time any day!
Super disappointed...traveled an hour to try out this place because of the reviews. Got there at 5:30 only to find a note they had closed at 5:15.
Stopped here for lunch while working in the area. I live in Fort Worth, which has a very competitive bbq scene. This place wouldn’t make it out there.
The Positives were the man at the counter, which I presumed to be the owner had great customer service. He was laughing, joking and shaking hands with customers. The establishment was extremely clean. Climate was comfortable. Other than those two things which are commendable, it wouldn’t be enough to bring me back and spend money to eat here.
I had the three meat plate , which included 2 sides and a roll. Although the portions were fair and price was industry standard for a good bbq joint, the food quality and taste was poor. The people I see in some reviews talking about how great the brisket is must not be used to eating top notch briskets at places like Hurtado, Heim or Terry Blacks amongst others even though this place is pretty identical in pricing .
I had ham , which you could tell was a lower quality vendor bought ham, the sliced brisket , which although seemed to have decent bark on it , was extremely bland and even though I got a fattier cut , it was not very moist and on the dry side. The smoked off the bone chicken came to me served as pulled chicken , and although it was the most seasoned thing on the plate, a better way to serve or prepare this would have been sliced breast or simply serving it on the bone. Shredded it was a bit mushy .
The sides of green beans had bacon and onion , but were extremely bland with little to no seasoning. The spicy pinto beans had good flavor , but when served to me they were barely luke warm, and by the time I actually got around to eating them they were basically cold. The roll was crusty on the outside but dry on the inside and not soft or fluffy
This place has a lot of stepping up to do in terms of seasoning and quality of menu items served. I can see this establishment receiving inflated reviews due to the previously mentioned great customer service, but the food is basically elderly white people food cafeteria food.
Great bbq and very friendly owner 👌
Food is amazing. Management was great and friendly. Out of town and wish we had this where we see from.
I've never had BBQ this good. Brisket was so tender I could barely pick it up with my fork. Most BBQ places are over priced and serve day old meat and have no soul in their food. This place clearly cooks all their meat fresh every day. I tried it on a Thursday and it was so good I wanted it again the next day on Friday but THEY WERE SOLD OUT!!! I've never actually seen a restaurant run out of the food they're serving. The community clearly loves this place and so do I. Thank you Fat Cow for putting faith back into BBQ restaurants for me again, because all of them are trash compared to you
Been coming here since 2017, unfortunately I moved to Colorado in 2023 and have definitely missed this quality of food and friendly service. Owner and Spouse recognize me as soon as I walk in the door every time, even though I'm big on changing my appearance frequently especially my hair. I have a planned trip to DFW at the end of this month and better believe I will be stopping by and indulging in my favor BBQ spot, look forward to seeing y'all again.
I do not usually waste time for reviews unless necessary. All I can say is that the brisket was dry, flavorless and terrible. The worst I have ever had.
Honestly, if I could eat there free - I still wouldn't. Plus the price was exorbitant. $23+ for two terrible briskets and a small side of cole slaw.
They also charge ten dollars for a frigging baked potato with some toppings.
While Dickey's certainly ain't the king of the hill for barbeque, Fat Cow makes them look like a 5 star restaurant.
Food flavor and quality at Dickey's is so much better.
I am a big supporter of little mom and pop businesses but I cannot stand being overcharged for tasteless and poorly prepared food.
During my work trip to Lewisville, I hit up this awesome smokehouse a few times for lunch. It's got that cozy vibe, you know? And the smoked meat? Off the charts! I'm talking juicy brisket, fall-off-the-bone ribs, and flavorful pulled pork. Every bite was like a flavor explosion.
And the service? Lightning fast! Even when it was packed, the staff was on it. Super friendly too. They made sure we had everything we needed without any fuss.
Overall, if you're ever in Lewisville and craving some killer smoked grub with a side of top-notch service, this place is a must-visit. Trust me, you won't regret it!
