Update: STILL THE BEST HOT POT IN THE AREA AND WORTH THE DRIVE TO GET TO IT. Reading all the bad reviews is disheartening. This is a shop owned and operated by a mom and daughter and it is legitimately some of the best Asian food I've had in DC MD or VA. We drive 30 mins to get food from here and 30 mins back. That's how good it is. The lamb hot pot with bone broth is to die for and we haven't found another's restaurant with flavor that comes close. The beef is good as well. My wife gets the veggie hot pot with bone broth and adds the pickled veg. The bone broth makes the dish. The mapo tofu is the best I've had in the area as well. I mean... there's just nothing bad that we've had. We most often get take out but it's even better in person. I think what's happening with the poor reviews is that people are ordering on GrubHub and Door Dash and those apps don't come through correctly. This happened to me and the restaurant corrected the issue immediately. I find the owner at the counter to be incredibly pleasant and friendly and she always strikes up a conversation because I go there often. I'm sure she just has had Uber drivers grabbing stuff out of the cooler to go with the order and they are trying to prevent that. This is my favorite restaurant in the area and I highly recommend you give it a try. Vegetarian options: My wife loves their veggie hot pot. Get it with pickled veggies. It's best with bone broth.

Was given the wrong order and told to drive 20+ minutes back for a refund. Pisspoor customer service. Below average food. Would not recommend.

Owner seems already changed. Worst service and food now. Really disappointed and bad feeling.the old woman was very rude and mean. Very messy and smelly environment which is making people feel uncomfortable and disgusting. Never come back in life.

This place is a hidden gem! Best hot pot in the area. Only a few tables inside. Awesome service

Excellent szechuan cuisine

Food is not so good and owner is rude. Last night sometime passed 7, I felt it was too late to make dinner and decided to order something quick. I stepped into that restaurant for the first time and ordered a noodle dish. There were not one table of people at that time, and I waited patiently. After 40 minutes, I saw people came and go, but my order was still not ready. I was starving and felt dizzy because of low sugar. I asked the owner when my order will be ready and she replied it was by order. So I waited for another few minutes. I looked at all the orders on the board and got confused why it took so long to make a noodle. When I saw people come 20 minutes after got their food. I asked the owner again for my order. She got very impatient and just said it’s by order. I said if it hadn’t been made, I want to cancel it. She got mad at me and said “we are not only serving you!” And started to complain I came at busy hour and didn’t order ahead of time. When I asked to cancel my order again, she just tossed a box into a paper bag rudely and gave me “ took it”. Be aware of the temper of the owner!!! Customers are not treated like customers.And when I unpack my order, it looked and tasted terrible. My son refused to eat it. I will not go there again. That’s the restaurant you should avoid. BTW, the price is not printed on the old dirty menu, but it’s expensive.

Best spicy soup in town.

Wow! I'm really surprised that there is such an authentic Chinese restaurant in the area! Their hot pot is promptly to die for, and they make great noodles as well! Their hot pot will be raw when served and it will cook in front of you with other veggies and such. The pork chitterlings were spot on, with a tiny bit too much salt. To be honest 2 hot pots could easily feed 3 people. The mid hotness for the noodles and the hot pot was much more than just mid, be aware of how much spicy you can handle. Overall great food just a bit cramped, I would definitely be coming back!

Absolutely dreadful experience at this restaurant! The wait felt like an eternity, and it was impossible to get any answers or attention. Their lack of responsiveness to calls and questions left me beyond frustrated. Never again!
