Explorer House

This was a great place to stay! The room was very comfortable and spacious. The B and B was a short distance to the river, lake and town on one side and the wineries on the other. Deanna and Alec were great hosts. The breakfast each morning was fantastic! Price was excellent especially when u factor in the breakfast. We will be back.

Great bed and breakfast within walking distance of downtown Niagara on the lake. Deanna and Alec are great hosts. Private space with access to common areas only for guests. Backyard hot tub is great even in winter. Enjoyed our stay more than the chain hotels. All rooms have a large private bathroom with a jacuzzi tub as well. Very clean. Rooms: Very clean

My wife and I just stayed at Explorer House, on the recommendation of our friends in Toronto. What a great recommendation! Deanna and Alec are superb and interesting hosts, their home is truly a gem, and their breakfasts are wonderful. We stayed in the Serengeti Suite for (2) nights, mainly because our Africa plans were derailed by COVID-19 in 2020, so this was an interesting refresher with the wonderful pictures and ornaments. We definitely would stay at this lovely B&B again.

Exceptional! A wonderfully relaxing experience. Thoughtfully decorated, well-appointed rooms with a separate kitchen space offering tea, coffee, and a refrigerator for guest use. Beautiful gardens with a cozy fire pit. We had a quiet and pleasant stay even with 100% occupancy. Parking was convenient. And, we enjoyed the well-executed breakfasts so much that we were thrilled the hosts offered the recipes in a cookbook. Highly recommend.

A lovely stay! The rooms have beautifully decorated themes as well as breathtaking photographs all over the home. The breakfasts were delicious. Atmosphere of the backyard makes you want to stay out there all night! Walkability: About a 25 minute walk from the Main Street of shops and theatre. Wonderful walks and map suggestions from the hosts as well!

Great place to stay , hosts are amazing ! Very welcoming and such great people ! breakfast superb , and the place is beautiful, stayed now 8 years in a row for vacation in Niagara on the lake , this place is close to everything , and the information packages that Alec and Deanna provide are fantastic , would recommend to anyone who like a super clean comfortable and relaxing stay ! Rooms are spacious , super well decorated , outdoor hot tub , gas fire pit, gazebo.. All 3 rooms are very comfortable, as they go above and beyond to make sure everyone gets Royal treatment. We enjoy mingling with other couples, and hosts at breakfast, in the dining room that is gorgeous! We are looking forward to our next visit ! A home away from home. It was a pleasure as always, to see Alec and Deanna, and spend some time with them. We cannot say enough about their hospitality and attention to detail.

I will definitely go back to the Explorer House. I highly recommend it. The owners / hosts obviously take great pride in their property as everything is clean, well maintained, well organized and efficient. The Explorer House has separate rooms on the upper floor with private bathrooms. We stayed in the Silk Road Suite. Comfortable king size bed, large bathroom with separate shower and bathtub. The room opens up to a patio overlooking the backyard where I had coffee in the morning. On the guest floor, there is a sitting area with everything you may need : table and chairs, fridge, keuring machine with k-cups, and kitchen essentials. We had coffee in the morning and used their mugs and wine at nice with their beautiful wine glasses. The backyard is beautiful and spacious with a gust hot tub and firepit area. The landscaping is perfect. Probably not a spot for kids, though FYI. But for a couple, it is perfect. The breakfast part of this B&B is amazing. We had breakfast with two other couples every morning at a large table. The menu is simple and the food delicious, perfectly prepared. The last day I had the best eggs benedict I ever had! It is just over a kilometer from the main NOTL shopping street, but we walked it easily in about 15 minutes. I definitely recommend this as a better alternative than big chain hotels. Walkability: About 1-2 km from the shopping district, beautiful 15 minute walk... Food & drinks: Amazing home made breakfast

First time staying at a B&B. Fantastic suite that was large and comfortable. Very private. Hot tub was a great way to relax. Nearby restaurant (Ruffinos) was amazing. Breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Fabulous stay from accommodating dietary requirements in delicious ways, to fabulous squeaky clean rooms, common areas and outdoor grounds. Friendly, knowledgable, and helpful hosts. The place cannot be more highly recommended.

The location is fantastic, the proprietors are lovely and accommodating, the rooms are clean, bright and spacious. My dietary requirements were of no consequence and easily met, and on our second stay they remembered my list from 8 months previous (wow!). Explorer House has amazing amenities - garden, fire pit, social areas, hot tub - and the decor is stunning with the owner’s photos decorating the beautiful suites and common areas. We will be back!
