Everyone is always smiley. It just puts you in a good mood. The staff and customers, just people enjoying spending time here with a delicious treat! It is impossible to have a bad experience, especially with how creative they are with the flavors!
I had an amazing experience today at EscoGelato. I could persist about the great prices, the cozy atmosphere and the delicious & quality Gelato, but the service here really is something special. They are so kind, welcoming and thoughtful.
I've been coming to this location once in a blue moon ever since it was Blue Mug Coffee & Tea (2002). Among locals, it's a very popular place, with great memories of making new friends, having casual business meetings, going for coffee after downtown events, catching up on the latest or just relaxing with the newspaper and/or a loved one on the weekend. With its wide-open entrance, it's fun watching the world go by on the sidewalk or side street. Years ago, I used to just quickly grab coffee on the way to work. More recently, I had lunch. I had a little time to relax on the tree-shaded patio before my tomato bisque and mediterranean salad arrived. Slowing down really made me savor the food. That's so important for being able to experience the individual aspects of a meal and what went into the preparation. The texture and subtle herbal flavors of the soup were divine. The artisanal bread was crunchy and delicious. The salad dressing was so fresh and tangy. When I expressed my appreciation, my server told me the details about how they made the meal. I was so impressed. She was clearly someone who loves food, ingredients and the work. That's so important for any establishment. It shows in the final product. The staff were all very hard at work. For patrons, the nice aspect of slowing down is getting to chat with each other on the patio. So, the name of this place may have changed but the vibe remains. Continuity is comforting. Shoppers might consider this place for quality gifts, e.g. wine and goats' milk lotion.
Nice neighborhood place. It's clean and modern and your mouth will water looking at the Gelato. I was there for lunch on a winter afternoon. We sat outside in the sun and enjoyed our tomato soup and half laminitis sandwich. Great neighborhood gem Parking: Downtown Escondido has plenty of parking options
Lovely atmosphere to be in with the best variety of gelatos. Highly recommend it. Once in, you feel as though you are in a good place. Will go again and again. Absolutely loved it.
I had the grilled cheese pesto panini. Decadent and delicious! Parking: Very busy on Second Saturday nights.
