El Salto Mexican Restaurant

We have been to El Salto several times to eat in and just ordered dinners carry out tonight. This place is amazing! The food is very good, very fresh and the restaurant is very clean. We have had good service every time we ate in. They seated us, took our orders and delivered the food all very quickly (but not rushed). The carry out order was ready as scheduled. The waiters and staff have always been very friendly. The menu has so many choices, it has many spelling errors but that just adds to the charm of the place. I love the pollo loco it is a large chicken breast in a great sauce with cheese served with rice, beans and a salad with guacamole all for like $13. My wife loves the grilled tilapia with vegetables. It comes with shrimp and the vegetables are fresh and well prepared. All our meals taste great and are big enough for leftovers. We will keep coming back. I hope they are able to stay open. Lots of great food, good service with a smile and a clean restaurant close by.

The tastiest quesabirrias in the Midwest!!!

There are lots of Mexican restaurants in Chesterfield and the rest of St. Louis, so this comparison is specifically to those in the area. Restaurant is pretty new, so nice clean eating area. I had something new which turned out to be something I'll describe as a deep fried Taco. Meh. Didn't really like it. But I had a drink that was excellent and kinda surprised us all when it came out in a bowl! We thought they were bringing food to the wrong table. My wife as always had fajitas they were good. Daughter had the enchiladas again pretty good. A fun time great service but nothing really stood out to me. Just another Mexican restaurant. I'd definitely return for that $16 drink though.

Had some great enchiladas and a fajita quesadilla last weekend, definitely coming back to try something else!

Guacamole was fantastic

Staff was TERRIBLE. Came here with my cousins hoping to catch up as we came here out of town, hard to enjoy each others company when all we can focus on was how rude the server was. Food was okay, everything was very watery and over priced. Would not come back and i do not recommend.
