February 2023 So very sad to see El Ranchero gone. Not sure what happened but old owners may have retired or just sold it. It will be missed! I have been eating at El Ranchero for over 20 years and have NEVER had a bad meal. Just tonight, I saw for the first time that they deliver food to the breweries that have come to downtown Vista. Order their nachos to share with your drinking buds. Order anything on the menu. You won't be disappointed.
Had the adobado Taco's and they were fantastic!
Wanted to try something new… Ordered an albondigas soup, took it to-go to find the three meatballs (very small) were not cooked. I called right away to tell them and was told it has been cooking for three hours. I went back and the lady had my money ready, didn’t apologize or offer anything else. Do not recommend.
This is a gem of a spot in downtown Vista. Family run eatery. The food is authentic and delicious. What you see in the images is the three enchilada plate with one cheese, one chicken and one beef enchilada with beans and rice. The other plate is two chicken tacos with beans and rice. Everything fresh and delicious. They will bring chips and homemade salsa to your table when you are seated. Several tables outside to chose from and some inside seating. Great place for lunch or dinner. Always consistently good!
The food is delicious love eat outside watching all the traffic and people walking around.
All of the food was just right - excellently prepared classics. Carnitas and Flautas were very good; guacamole was delicious. Will be coming back.
This place is authentic Mexican market.
Ordered the shrimp cocktail it was refreshing contained cucumber, tomato, onion, cilantro, and lime juice. It was tasty but not spicy.
