Eat My Catfish

Old school catfish, slaw, and hushpuppies that can't be beat! Loved every single bite!

Ordered dinner and the fries came out cold. Ended up ordering dessert after and after waiting 15 minutes I asked and was told 6 minutes before my pie would be out (I think it was missed). I also ordered my 3 kids the dirt and worms. They brought the pie, but no dirt and worms. I asked and after the guy checked he said they were missed and it would be another 5 minutes. About 10 minutes later they brought me 2 of the dirt and worms without the worms. Still here waiting on the third.

We usually love to try new seafood around the area and get out of our comfort zones, but this was just a miss. Not badly priced but the first red flag was the cook getting someone to help us (friendly dude) the food was overly greasy, the homemade tartar sauce was straight mayo and the rice was cold and there was little to no flavor. Fries were good. Idk if it was just one bad experience or what, but I am definitely not visiting again anytime soon.

I gave them a 2nd chance today since I hadn’t been in a year. Paid over $21 for a 4 piece, soda machine was not working but no problem I want tea anyway but at 11:10am the tea is somehow already sour, I move on to get condiments ready and I have to keep pumping the old product out of the dispenser to get what it’s labeled as which means it wasn’t cleaned after they closed at 2:00pm the day before. 11:38 comes around and I still don’t have food so I got a refund and left without my nasty tea.

This was such a disappointing trip. Husband and I decided to take advantage of the “couples” special. We get there and ask for the boiled shrimp, it’s ab 515pm, they were out. No apology. I wanted that for our starter and my meal so I was bummed. I instead order the blackened combo. First off it took ab 15-20 min to get our pickles. There was only one order ahead of us. We go to get our condiments, tarter is out, ketchup is out, utensils out. Food comes out another 10-15 min later, nothing to eat our food with. Took another 5 to stock the utensils. My fish was terrible….terrible. Literally tasted burnt. It was blackened alright. And for my 3rd piece, it was literally 1/4 the size of the other filets. The hush puppies were mushy inside. The pies…not sure what happened. The fried part was so salty I used a fork to eat the filling which was cold still in a few spots. But salty, why, how? And they need to do some SERIOUS dusting in there. Maybe that’s why they keep the lamps turned off. Overall it was such a terrible experience.
