As an American who regularly travels around the US for golf trips, I was thoroughly surprised by our visit to dundonald. The accomodations were perfect (I've never had a private chipping green out my back door!), the food was great, and the course was excellent. Most of all, the staff at the front desk and pro shop were above and beyond. Next time you're planning a hold trip with friends, you will do yourself a favor to base out of dundonald. You're minutes from some of the best courses in Scotland. We played dundonald, Prestwick, Western gailes, Prestwick st nicks, and the ailsa, and they were all fantastic. Thanks dundonald crew, can't wait to come back. Rooms: Very comfortable bedrooms and common space with great kitchenette Nearby activities: Tons of golf options within a few minutes drive, local whiskey store was a real treat for an American. Walkability: Easy to walk around to dinner, the course and the driving range. Only needed to hire a car for our trips into Prestwick and the ailsa. Food & drinks: Food at the course restaurant was great with a spectacular view of the course and sunset. Noteworthy details: We had a private cavin for 4, very comfortable with a chipping green in the backyard.
