Clean, modern design and reasonable price. Decent seating with a small area for coloring. Very moist and soft cake doughnuts to a point like soaking in sugary glaze were ok. Mild flavor chocolate doughnuts with minimal sprinkle was a disappointing the little one. Mild flavor Almond and the strawberry frosting were extremely sweet. Apple fritters with very minimal apple pieces was average, I had much better ones. I like raised doughnuts that are sweet, but this is way too sweet for me with black coffee. The original location is in Burnsville with new ownership.

This is such a cute shop. It has a kids coloring area and such cute artist paintings on the wall.

I've been going to Donut star for nearly 30 years. The new owners have done a great job at maintaining the quality and atmosphere of the original small Donut shop. Donut star is great and is a completely under served market in Dakota county. Almost no donut shops and they do an amazing job. I'm making this review in part to bury Laurie's review she probably didn't even eat a donut.

I have been a long time customer of the Burnsville Donut Star (we’re talking 15 years and 3 different owners) and I was thrilled to hear Donut Star was coming to Lakeville. My daughter has been begging me to go there but the Burnsville location was honestly too far of a hike on a weekend morning. I took her there today on their second day open and she was so excited and happy! The donuts were fantastic as always! The atmosphere is great! They have a kids coloring table and the donuts are easy for the kids to see. We saw at least 10 other families come through in the short time we were there and we everyone seemed to love the donuts. I think the biggest thing they need is probably signs on each side of the building so people know where it is and can see it when they are driving by or into the parking lot.

Disappointing. They had a machine that wasn't working, so they didn't have as many donuts out. My husband asked for a maple glazed long john. They pointed one out, but it had white frosting, so he questioned it and was told it definitely was maple. It wasn't. My husband said the apple fritter was decent. It was also hard to find the shop. I was going to give fewer stars, but they are new in Lakeville, so hopefully, they work out the kinks.

I've been going to the Burnsville location for years now, and was very excited for this new location. Same great donuts and a great location. Their Blueberry donut holes are my favorite, but their weekly special donuts keep me coming back! Can't recommend this place enough!

I am a long time Donut Star fan and am so happy they opened in Lakeville! Donut Star has the best donuts, donut holes and their own Spaceman Blend coffee. The Lakeville location is bright, colorful and family friendly. I love that they have kids coloring pages to entertain little ones while eating delicious donuts. The staff is friendly and very welcoming. Highly recommend Donut Star!
