Something was definitely off on our most recent visit. Took almost an hour to receive our food, and almost another hour after that to receive the check and pay. Food portions were noticeably smaller. Not the Doc's we are accustomed to. Found out a little while later from a reasonable source that many staff were recently fired/laid off and many of the current staff are now new. I don't know if this is true or not, but it jives with the experience we had. Not sure if we will return any time soon.
I thought the hangover burger was excellent, the waffles were so-so, though my daughter said they were the best she'd ever had. Wait staff was great and atmosphere is representative of Tulsa in general, quaint and lively.
My wife and I arrived for Happy Hour. We enjoyed chargrilled oysters and a few raw gulf oysters, glass of wine and cocktails. Carter was an excellent server. The pineapple passion fruit daiquiris went down smoothly. We will return.
We used the OpenTable app to book a table for 2 at 7:30. We walked in at 7:25 and were sat immediately in the upper part of the restaurant, we then asked if we could be moved to the bottom portion a bit closer to the fireplace. They had no issue with this and helped us move. Atmosphere: We have only visited on evenings when the lights are dimmed and the tables are candle lit. Soft music is playing, you can smell the fireplace burning on a chilly night. The upper portion is the full bar with about half a dozen tables for 2, 4, 6 guests. The bottom portion has around 10 tables inside and an enclosed patio area with another 8 or so tables. The bottom area has a large table for 6 or 7 and then a few 2 and 4 top tables. Deducting a star on atmosphere because our chairs were uneven and did not sit right. Food: The menu has several options. We went with the 8oz filet and lobster pasta. We’ve had them in the past and they still didn’t disappoint. Deducting a star on food because the filet was ordered medium rare, but was overcooked, although it didn’t stop us from finishing the plate. Service: service was great from The moment we walked in and walked out. Our server even offered to split our plates since we were in decisive on who wanted the pasta and who wanted the filet. Very impressed with the service. Overall, if you’re looking for a quaint spot to grab a glass of wine, enjoy some amazing food and leave without breaking the bank, this is it. Our tab consisted of a dirty martini, 8 oz filet and lobster pasta and with tax was $98. Can’t wait to revisit Doc’s for our next date night.
A charming quaint little restaurant with great atmosphere, good service and a nice bar. The salmon was absolutely fabulous, highly recommend! We did not have to wait for bar seating on a Wednesday night but table reservations were suggested for weekends. Would make a great date night location.
