Fun waterfront DC winery. Happy hour 3 to 6. Windows rolls up to give a hybrid feel without being too hot. Visited by way of wine Instragram @j_r0ze recommendation. Tried the sauvignon blanc and rose both were nice and crisp.
Originally 4 star (but contacted by staff and I want to give their star back)
The hosting staff didn’t greet me or my date when we arrived and in fact didn’t even make eye contact for the first several minutes. We had reservations for 6:30 and weren’t seated until 6:50 and there was no courtesy acknowledgement about the wait. There wasn’t a huge crowd either although I believe there might have been a party hosted some where on the premises. I had to walk up to the hosting stand a second time after overhearing my name come up in their conversation, but no one came to get me. No one looked up even though I was standing right there at the front desk until I spoke up again. It’s like they forgot I existed despite me standing less than 10 feet away the entire time. When we left the restaurant, the hosting staff didn’t even look up or speak. No “thank you, come again” or even eye contact. If you are going to pay to eat at a nice restaurant you should be treated much better. Grocery stores greet me better.
However, our waiter was very personable and kind. He offered helpful insights and made sure we were well taken care of. The man who poured our wine let us know about an event at the restaurant and someone who brought our plates was kind. The food was delicious and brought out quickly, and the restaurant has a great aesthetic. Other than the lackluster hosting, my experience was nice.
Lovely quiet place on the water at Navy Yard. Dog-friendly, wonderful wines & delicious shrimp & toast app.
Absolutely excellent! I had every intention to come in for a quick glass of wine and snack, however, I ordered practically the entire menu. My absolute FAVORITE thing was the lemon pepper bites! I am from Atlanta so TRUST me yall when I say this took me right back there. So tender, so flavorful! The deviled eggs and the pimento cheese, normally don't eat them - we devoured them. Oh! and the beef carpaccio! Oh! and the cucumbers! Amazing! THEN I had a brief moment to meet and compliment the chef and sous chef - top notch guys! From beginning to end, we had an amazing time. Great staff, wonderful mixologists (had like 3 drinks!), outstanding food, and overall great vibes. 10/10. I've already been back twice.
Happy hour had wonderful food and drinks. Drove 2 hours to go to dinner and the food was wonderful. We ordered the steak, chicken, and fish. The staff was so kind and friendly from the moment we walked in to when we left. Can’t wait to return!
The BEST meal we’ve had in a long time! The venue is beautiful, but Chef Nick’s chicken thighs are out-of-this-world good! Pair that with the beef carpaccio and the Cesar’s salad and WOW!!!
Great for tastings by the waterfront. Premium pricing for high quality wine.
