Bar was closed on a Friday night so we had a very limited selection of coctails to enjoy with our dinner. Service was extremely slow, our food took over one hour to arrive even tho they were at no more than 20% full capacity Very disappointing experience, no worth the price.
Edit - We visited again this past Saturday and everything was just as good as we remembered. We even had the same waiter! We absolutely love a great cocktail and the menu at Dirty Dan's does not disappoint. It's creative, has a lot of options and everything is made in-house. The bartender even created something for us on the spot and his service was flawless. Did I mention the Old Fashioned menu? Thanks, Steve! You're the reason we keep coming back! The Cara Cara Orange Cosmopolitan was absolutely delicious. The food was incredible and the service was absolutely amazing. Our waiter, Steve, was absolutely perfect and let us have a sneak peek at their new cocktail menu and it is quite original and very impressive. We're looking forward to coming back and trying the Raspberry Hibiscus Margarita. Thanks for such a great evening!
This was our third time at Dirty Dan's and everything was perfect. The cocktail menu is innovative and large. Food is amazing. Steve was our waiter and bartender and his service is always exceptional. We ask for him every time. This guy makes the ordinary seem extraordinary and treats us like an everyday dinner is a special occasion.
Boyfriend took me out for birthday dinner here. I had the 6 oz prime rib which was perfectly cooked. Boyfriend had the ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes. I thought the mashed was too salty but bf said it was the best he's ever had. He'd eat a bucket full of it if he could. We also shared the crab stuffed mushrooms which were really tasty. Drinks were delicious and our waiter was great. He made sure to get us a complimentary birthday creme brulee with a cute candle to finish the night even though we were stuffed. This was our second visit to the restaurant and probably not our last.
Sadly, this restaurant was a staples for nice steak houses in bellingham, and the quality has dropped. There were five of us out for a nice dinner, four steak meals, and one salmon. The food was good, but it was just not amazing. Two of the steaks were overcooked, one was undercooked, and the salmon was fishy in flavor. And talking about flavor, Dirty Dan's meals used to be flavorful, delicious treats. Nowadays, the food is Applebee's flavors, with the high prices. Not to say anything we had was bad. It just wasn't amazing. $300+ night out for five people with adequate food was sadly not what we expected. I know that restaraunts in bellingham have high operating cost that they have to pass on to the customer, but better quality and flavor would have made it worth the cost.
This was our first time at Dirty Dan's and it won't be our last. We had an incredible dinner here. The prime rib was so tender that it cut like butter. The baked potato was the size of a football and that gorgonzola garlic bread is to die for. Our server was also the bartender and that guy has got it going on. I think his name was Steven. Their cocktail menu is the most creative and innovative over ever seen. He made a potion for my partner that was out of this world. Such a fabulous drink! It was called, "I put a spell on you," and it was an interactive cocktail. Wait until you see what happens when you add the potion hanging on the side of the glass! I had the smoked cherry old fashioned and it was the best old fashioned I've ever had. Thanks for such a great time, we'll be back!
Amazing place! A must in Fairhaven. We went because of the name but absolutely loved the place. Very unique setup. A bar upstairs and seating downstairs. Cool little sections on different levels. The food was delicious and excellent portions. We ordered the 5oz prime rib but it was definitely bigger than 5oz. The baked potato was giant and tasty. Service was very friendly. The owner was one of the servers and was chatting with all the customers. A great drink menu with cocktails and all kinds of drinks. Definitely planning to go back.
Chose to eat here because of the positive reviews and wanted to try someplace new in Bellingham. I have 2 words for this place. Overpriced AND overrated! I have a hard time believing all of the positive reviews posted. First of all, when you pay the kind of prices they charge here, you don't expect mediocre food, you expect food that you thoroughly enjoy and even think about into the next day! And you should also have the right to expect excellence in the food when that is how they promote their food on their menu. That was not the case with anything we ordered here! We started with an appetizer, the steak tips. It was so bad, we couldn't even eat it. The meat was tough and chewy. The sauce was way too oniony. I guess that was a way to disguise the poor quality of the meat. When the server came by and saw it had been put to the side, she asked if it was okay. We told her it wasn't what we expected and would prefer just to wait for our entrée. Instead, she had the chef make the exact same thing again and brought it out to us. It was the same poor quality, same sauce, and have no idea why she chose to do that. We did not ask for another appetizer, nor did we really even complain about it, we just said we didn't care for it. She did then tell us that the steak tips was actually a combination of three different cuts of meat. That was a surprise, since that is not the way it was described in the menu! It was supposed to be filet. Not, one bite of filet and the rest inferior beef! Next came the entrée. One of us ordered the "fresh" salmon and the other ordered"prime rib." We've ordered salmon at Anthony's Home Port many, many times. It's always been exceptional! This salmon was horribly fishy smelling and, after a few bites, had to just set it aside. I had the prime rib. Again, I don't understand the positive reviews. It had a decent flavor, but was tough, chewy and grizzly. The au jus tasted like flavored water, and the horse radish tasted like light mayo. Terrible. Obviously, an inferior cut of meat. I've had better prime rib purchased at Fred Meyer. The garlic mashed tasted like they'd sat our for hours. They were so thick, I could only eat a few bites. For the prices charged, I expect to get the kind of food quality that I've had at similarly priced restaurants. Unfortunately, that's not the case. It guess it wasn't surprising that the place was fairly empty on a Saturday night. That should have been our first clue. I would never go back here. Even the drinks were bad.
