I've eaten here a few times. All the food we have ordered is delicious. The duck combo is pricy but very good and my favourite dish we have ordered.
The food and service was good. We will be going back to explore the menu further.
First time dining at Dim Sum Garden and it was really good. I recommend going during their dimsum happy hour. I love their shark fin dimsum and their pineapple custard buns! The buns were sweet with a creamy taste. I also tried their mango pudding which was also really nice - not too sweet. Though I recommend ordering this last to preserve the coldness, since they serve it pretty cold. In terms of their service it was good, the workers were really attentive to our needs. The atmosphere inside was also really nice, it's very spacious and clean. Though I find it a little dim with their lighting. However it's not an issue. In terms of affordability, I'd say it's def affordable especially if you go during their happy hour.Though the price point can vary depending on how many people dine in and how much you order. They also have a good selection of other menu items besides dimsum. Would def recommend!
Very quiet place to take the whole family
Best dim sum in Winnipeg!
I usually would not take my time to write a review like this but I was absolutely appalled at the service we received at dim sum garden a few weeks ago. My family and I have been going here for 10+ years and I guess it has recently been taken under new management and moved to across the street. Firstly when we entered there was little to no greeting and they almost seemed annoyed they had to seat us. They sat us directly in front of the door when the entire restaurant was empty besides 1 other table. After seating us in the most disrespectful spot, it seemed as if two of the females working were kind of giggling to themselves and talking in a foreign tongue while staring at us. They never came to the table and had a male staff member serve us. Who was very polite. The food was standard dim sum and warm but did cool off quickly based off where we were seated. As other patrons entered we did notice how they were being sat in locations further from the door and were able to take off their jackets while eating. The 2 female employees served those tables and never once came to our table. It was impossible to flag down a server if they weren’t actively bringing you something, even the male staff member. As they walked through the dining room they made no effort to make eye contact with us. I had to get up to ask for more water and a drink, my sister got up to ask for more cutlery. I would never accuse an establishment of discrimination or racism but our treatment felt subpar to those around us and we are visibly afro-canadian. My family and I paid our 150$ tab and left without saying anything, although my mother was quite upset and wanted to. We will no longer being back to dim sum garden. They have lost loyal customers.
