My husband and I did High Tea for Valentine’s Day and it was lovely! The soups (Butternut Squash and Tomato Roasted red pepper soup) were delicious! This was followed by a green salad and then a tiered tray of finger sandwiches and pastries. The cost ($22 a person) was very reasonable and we were both well satisfied with what we ate. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect, ornate and whimsical. It is located within a jewelry store and the owner and staff is friendly and full of wonderful stories of among other things, High Tea with the Queen. Definitely recommend this quaint tea room and will be back to try some of the a la cart dishes!
Never EVER host a tea party here! Note *The High Tea is $28 / person. Our experience today (where do I even start!?)... FOOD: The salad was lettuce (with virtually no dressing) with 1 carrot and soggy canned green beans ontop The "meat sandwiches" consisted of a SINGLE SLICE of lunch meat on crustless sandwich bread with a tiny bit of mustard (and looked like my 6-year-old cut off the crust) The "Cucumber sandwich" was crustless sandwich bread with a single layer of Cucumber and one tiny layer of mayo. Dessert: WALMART mini cupcakes (the super cheap ones my kids don't even like) & stale scones Fruit: Without question it was the frozen fruit meant for smoothies that was defrosted (meaning it was all mushy and soggy) Tea: They only offered one choice (and the tea wasn't even hot). They had no option for caffeine free and no flavored teas (and didn't even offer us water with our meal) The soup was good (literally the ONLY THING that was good) Atmosphere: Junk laying around EVERYWHERE! Empty boxes, cords, & clutter covered the floor and walls. It was also super dark. I asked if we could turn on the lamps and was told they didn't work. I had to request music be turned on. Service: Poor Note: I'm usually a very positive person (this is actually the only time I've ever left a negative review on Google), but I simply had to share how poor the experience was to prevent others from experiencing the same.
Such a wonderful shop that has been in busy for many many years! The owner is such a delight to talk to and custom makes every piece that is in the shop handmade with care and passion. Wouldn’t take my business anywhere else!
2nd time at this beautiful tea house with friends everything was perfect and delicious
Understaffed. Overbooked for our group of 24. Disappointing sandwiches. Soup, however, was excellent.
The food was NOT traditional English afternoon tea. I lived in England for 30 years. The place is oddly decorated with black walls and curtains and drapes closed making it extremely dark. The owner was friendly but the food was a combination of the mini white frosted Publix cupcakes with sprinkles, to Danish butter cookies. The sandwiches were on white bread that looked like it was cute from a jagged knife. A bean salad was served, which has nothing whatsoever to do with afternoon tea. The tea was rather weak but kept hot by placing the ceramic/porcelain teapot on a type of mini candle burner. I was incredibly disappointed. The place has a lot of lady bug paraphernalia and throw rugs. You enter via a diamond shop which has stuffed animals on a bench.
