I put in an order on a Friday for a birthday cake red velvet for my girlfriend, I told the person that answered the phone that I didn’t get paid till the following Thursday but I could probably put down the deposit that Saturday I was told that it was cool however I was being rushed off the phone or what ever they had going on it’s was close to 7, ok boom fast forward to that next Tuesday I went in there to put my deposit down for the cake I wanted Saturday and was told the owner was going out of town wensday and that she was supposed to call me but that didn’t happen so later on that Tuesday I received a call from the recipinist and was told since I didn’t put the deposit down Saturday I was not able to get my cake made for that Saturday because the owner was going out of town lol. I asked when I went in that Tuesday to make the deposit did she know she was going out of town her helper said yea she knew, I asked her why wasn’t I informed or why was that not communicated when I called Friday.second I came up there that Saturday after ordering Friday to put the deposit down because I ended up having extra money and they doors was locked and closed at 6:50 with nobody in there even though they closed 7pm on their website on Saturday .Thirdly the if the women was not trying to rush me off the phone and get off work there wouldn’t have been any miscommunication. Fourth I didn’t get an apology they were just like oh well we don’t Give a F…. Not literally but didn’t seem like they cared it seemed the was looking more for a reaction cause they could tell I was upset I’m sure of it in person and on phone.Fifth I said a red velvet cake she didn’t even let me say what I wanted on the cake or anything she was ready to hang up I asked about the deposit an all she was just on some have a good day till I kept talking so she was never going to tell me about the owner having a vacation, a deposit, or what I wanted wrote on the cake or anything I was just gone show up that Saturday and be pissed . Sixth JUST GO TO (PARTY HOUSE) in Kannapolis way nicer and caring people that won’t waste ur time or give u a dry cake like I read in the reviews cause I wouldn’t have came here in the first place and the people at party house will talk you through the whole process and not rush u off the phone, Because of party house my girlfriend will get her cake on time now for her (BIRTHDAY) hate to be like this on my own people and they are lucky I’m changing because I would have gave them a mouthfull for waitlisting my time and the unprofessionalism , my Bad review made them lose they 4.4 now it’s 4.3 so (Party House bakery in Kannapolis hold the best rating that’s another reason to go there ) #Respectfully #unapologetic Willie Clark

I order my daughter 21st Birthday cake and was very disappointed. This was not my 1st time purchasing a cake from deserts by Katrina. So I really was disappointed- the cake was very dry, $70 on a cake to be thrown away. My daughter nor any of our guess enjoyed the cake. I will not purchase anything else from your establishment and really wish you will do better.

Just ordered my first cake from here. It was so good and definitely worth the price. I will be returning.

My husband ordered my birthday cake from here. It was soooo beautifully designed. However it was extremely dry. I bake, and speak from personal and professional experience as I leave this feedback. Feedback is feedback and it helps us grow as individuals and business owners. When I called to perhaps resolve my dissatisfaction with the owner, there was no accommodation for my dissatisfaction. I ended up returning the cake to the place of business. Although we cannot please everyone, and mistakes do occur, a few reviews expressing "dry cakes" is something to consider as a business owner.

There were only 5 or 6 cakes in the show case. They had quite a few cupcakes of maybe 3 or 4 flavors. My family and I were disappointed not just by the lack of items to choose from but the prices were high for the size of cake you received. We bought a mini cupcake for $1.75 and two pieces of cake at $4.98 each. None of the items had any WOW factor to them. The carrot cake was the best. What I thought was really insane was a sign regarding the whole cakes in the cooler. The young lady behind the counter explained if someone came in and purchased a whole cake they would have to pay an extra $10.00! What?!?! Yep, if you hadn’t preordered a cake you had to pay an extra $10.00 to purchase one out of the cooler! I never heard of paying a “penalty fee “ for wanting to purchase a whole cake. Talk about crazy! The woman was nice but needless to say we will not return to Desserts by Katrina again.

We had the strawberry cake/cheesecake. It is 2 layers of strawberry cake with a layer of cheesecake in the middle. It is phenomenal! And the price/size is great.

Cute shop, but really in the cases to choose from.
