Dear Saigon

The restaurant looks beautiful and the food was presented beautifully. However, the taste did not reflect the price. The pho was $17 and did not taste better than other cheaper places. I also got their specialty tacos. Two tacos for $17 and most of it was lettuce. While it looks nice to have the meat on top of the lettuce, this made it very difficult to eat. More than Half of the taco was just lettuce. I tried to take a bite and it was just a mouthful of lettuce. For $17, they also only gave me ONE SHRIMP per taco ( they sliced it in half to make it look like two shrimp). The fresh rolls also had way too much cilantro which we did not enjoy. I don't recommend this place. Pho restaurants are plenty.

We walked into this place and got yelled at by a waiter saying they’re closing in an hour. We got there at around 8:45. We were only there to get drinks. We ordered the Layer Coffee and they brought it to us in a to-go cup, even though someone who ordered 5 min before us got it in a glass. I took 5 sips and the coffee was done. It was pure ice. I saw the customer who got it in a glass and their’s barely had ice in it. I don’t understand why the incompetent server was so rude and struggled to speak normally. We just walked in and were immediately yelled at by this man. He had glasses and tattoos on his forearm. Don’t pay this place a visit unless you want to get ripped off. This drink was $7.

Ordered A1 (Deep fried Spring Rolls, R8 (House Special Pho) & R3 (Grilled Pork & Chicken Rice Platter) as takeout. Server was welcoming. Food was ready in less than 10 mins all sorted out in containers and bagged together accordingly. Deep fried Spring rolls were ok as well as the House special pho. Really enjoyed the rice platter. Overall very good Vietnamese food joint. Food may be a little pricey though but overall enjoyed it.

The decor is nice and the pho is good! Great viet coffee.

Got take out from here for Valentine's day and was sooooo impressed by it! We called ahead to order and it was ready for pick up right on time. They take credit card at the restaurant, so it was an easy pick up process. The food smelled so good in the car on the way home. It made me even hungrier! I live about 40 mins away from the restaurant and by the time I got home, the food was still semi-warm. We got the Dear Saigon Platter ($43.99) and the Bun Bo Hue ($18.99). We always like to heat up the soup when we get take out, so we did the same this time. It came out perfectly - as if we were in the restaurant! I will note that the bun bo hue from here does not come with pork feet (this is our favourite part), but the noodles were thick and the perfect amount of chewiness. The broth wasn't extremely spicy either, which was good because we could actually taste the flavour. The platter was massive and delicious! We actually had some left over. My only complaint would be that the rice wraps they give are so tiny compared to the amount of food they give you. They kept on breaking as well, so it was hard to roll them. They weren't like the ones we're used to. Overall, the take out was so good, we can't wait to try their food in person. Definitely lives up to the hype!
