so delicious, the Dank Beef saved my life. the guy running the place was super chill and fun to talk with. 10/10 beef
What an amazing experience the owner/chef explained his process for making the perfect Chicago style beef sandwich. He was right on I couldn’t get enough of that moist beef in my mouth while the juice dripped down my face. I will be coming back to get more dank beef next time I’m in Eugene!
This was my first time trying Dank Beef, both the cart and the sandwich itself. This was also my first Italian beef sandwich. This was by far one of the most amazing sandwiches I have ever had. Might have ruined any other Italian beef I try! The owner was super amazing and laid back too. I will 100% be coming back.
Maybe the best Italian beef I've ever had, including in Chicago. Super juicy meat and amazing bun. Great service and open late for a great after-bar meal. Would recommend to anyone.
OMG!! Listen to me. I’m from IL! I’ve eaten Italian beef all my life. My parents made it and THIS sandwich rivals any I’ve had. It was SO GOOD. Next time I’ll get it with cheese, hotter peppers and on the pretzel bun. Dude was super nice and I enjoyed talking with him about back home and living in Eugene. My boyfriend had never had it before and he won’t stop talking about it. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Bomb Italian sandwich with the dank twist
We finally found our Chicago beef place in Oregon! Sandwiches are perfect, served on fresh bread with super flavorful beef, provolone, and just the right amount of **real** delicious giardiniera! Also grateful for the veggie brats, so that the vegetarians in our group could also enjoy the taste of home.
Owner is super cool. Makes An amazing Chicago sandy. Go hawks Kid-friendliness: Nice guy
Being from the Midwest and having grown up eating many Italian Beefs, I was excited to find this place. I asked if my sandwich could be served "dipped" and he knew exactly what I meant so I had a feeling I was in for a treat. Holy smokes, I was not disappointed! This is hands down one of the best Italian Beefs I have ever ever had - better than many I've had in Chicago, even, and certainly better than anything Portillo's puts out. I had an Italian Beef on a french roll with mild peppers and au jus. You're going to want to order it with the au jus - it will be ladled over the sandwich (or do it yourself if ordering to go) - this is a hallmark of a true Italian Beef - and yes the bread will get soggy but that's the point! The bread was perfect - sturdy enough to hold up to the sogginess, but still chewy and had a great flavor. The meat was perfectly cooked - juicy and thinly sliced. Au jus - some of the best I've ever had. Full flavored and clearly not just a watered down seasoning packet. Giardiniera - excellent! Very tangy, and the carrots had a good amount of crunch. Not sure if it's house made or not, but sure tastes like it is! Another in our group ordered the pretzels with cheese sauce. They were very impressed, and the one bite I was able to steal was excellent. Great chew and tasted fresh. Cheese sauce - he noted that he makes his own cheese sauce. It is very, very good. A perfect companion to the pretzels, it's sharp and thick, making it perfect for dipping. Overall, I was incredibly impressed - this place is the real deal. I'll definitely be a regular from now on. Prices are very, very reasonable and the service was excellent, and as a night owl it's great to have as a late night food option. One last note: I really appreciated the way everything was packaged for a to go order - au jus can be tricky to transport and he took the time to wrap it so it wouldn't cause spillage, and everything made it home safely. Kid-friendliness: The pretzels are a super kid friendly dish; given it's a cart in an open location it's easy to accommodate families with kids.
