They may just hire you, promising to train you, then pull the rug out from under you at the end of the workweek, because you still have the amount of experience they were wholly cognizant of to begin with, and they might just cite a symptom of your developmental disability when they do it. But they’ll smile the whole time. Nice place otherwise
Excellent fish house with a nostalgia all it's own. Michelle, the owner, is a hoot that knows how to pour. The oysters are wonderful, and they really have upped their food game!
Truly a Portland institution. Dan & Louis is for sure one of the top 5 oyster bars in the world; everything that an oyster bar should be. Oceany decor, fresh seafood and has been a family-run establishment since the first Pacific Coast oyster was ever shucked (probably). BUT UNFORTUNATELY....it's right smack in the center of a dying town. Portlanders just can't seem to figure out that allowing homeless people to run amok, camp just about anywhere, do just about anything -- ncluding tranq-dope, fent, H in front of shops/restaurants -- are not becoming of a major metropolitan nor conducive for a healthy, safe environment. Kid-friendliness: While not a kid-centric establishment, per-se...D&L has a fun atmosphere. Lots of intersting history adorning the very walls alongside kitschy, sea-faring decor. BE SURE TO LET THE KIDS CHECK OUT the view down below into Portland's infamous, underground, Shaghai Tunnels!
The fish tacos were yummy! The oysters Rockefeller rocked! And the Old Fasioned cocktail was the bomb!
Went for the Monday oysters on a half-shell and also got the smoked salmon chowder and seafood ciopinno
EXCELLENT oysters. The waitress was too cool for school, I wanted to be her.
I ate at Dans 3 days in a row when I was in Portland because that’s how good the oysters were. Not to mention the owners were very welcoming. They have happy hours which I completely took advantage of. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Portland, I’ve eaten fresh oysters from the coast and even Seattle and these are top notch! Calamari was also delicious and the drinks were well made. I’d go back!
