Daisy Dukes Diner Kenner

I wasn't expecting this place to be a diner as other locations are not, but this is okay. This visit was a mixed bag. The services was lacking as soon as we got in. We stood along with others for more than 10 minutes and no one approached us to put us on the waiting list. Eventually we asked if we could sit at the empty spots at the counter which we did. I had the country fried chicken. The chicken was well seasoned and perfectly fried, very crispy. The mashed potatoes had a little bit of pepper which kicked it up a notch, And the green beans were well seasoned and very hot. The only downside of my meal is that the white gravy was a little stiff, perhaps the dishes sat a little while before being served to us. My wife had eggs, bacon, and grits. Her eggs were prepared perfectly, but the cheesy grits were not as cheesy as expected though she asked for extra cheese. The bigger trouble spot with her dish was her bacon that she asked to be "not too crispy ". This bacon was fully crispy though it had a good taste of you like crispy bacon. The place was busy on this morning and unfortunately it showed in the service. I was debating between three stars and four stars so the rating is subject to a change if we return.

Just a typical diner. Pretty good food and nice menu selection. If you have 1-4 people it’s great but anything more than that will probably feel cramped.

I enjoyed this cute little diner. The waitress and the manager (owner?) were both so helpful and kind. I stayed at the hotel directly behind the diner so it was very convenient. I would definitely go back!

Great food at a great price.

I hate to leave such a bad review because it was pretty friendly but the food wasn't good. The milkshake didn't even taste like vanilla. It tasted like frozen milk how does that happen? I got a single Patty Burger but they gave me really thick bread with it. I would have needed three times the meat for that bread to be appropriate The Cajun fries tasted normal needed way more crab boil. The toppings for the burger are lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles but they skimped on all four. Onions are my favorite and they gave me two super tiny thin cut onion rings (Not fried). I did like the skeleton they had in one of the chairs. That was funny. I thought it was a person.
