Cuu Long was opened in 1996 and is mostly considered the first Vietnamese Restaurant in Aiea. Over the years, locals have raved about and fell in love with Cuu Long's Pho. On the weekends or rainy days, it is typical to see a line of people waiting outside of the restaurant. The secret to Cuu Long's pho is that it is healthier and lighter than the traditional pho broth that is normally loaded with heaps of msg. To cut the msg count, chef cooks the broth fresh daily and uses fresh pineapples to cut on sugar too. After the broth is finished, the chef strains the broth and removes the fat oil droplets to ensure a delicious, light, and flavorful broth.
