**This is an update from 03/22/2024** We were there for an event, and food was served downstairs in a meeting room. I did not have breakfast, but I was there to smell the burning of the tortillas from the burner under the hotel pan. I ate lunch, what could be salvaged of it. For $15 it was a clamshell container that had been in the fridge for quite a while. There was a sourdough sandwich with meat and American cheese. The sandwich was wrapped in plastic wrap. This made the bread wet and mushy. There was also a tiny orange and a store bought cookie. (And containers of mayonnaise and mustard, with no utensils to spread it). For dinner, which was $40 a person…(there was about 40 of us) fried chicken which was completely cold and raw inside, dried out Mac and cheese (no cheese sauce, just boiled noodles with cheese sprinkled on it) and a salad. (With not enough utensils for everyone) Thats it, no other food. We alerted the staff that the chicken was raw. They took the hotel pan of chicken away, and came back 20 minutes later with the exact same hotel pan that looked like they just put it all in an oven and baked it on high for a few minutes. When cutting open the chicken they “re-cooked”, it was still bloody and raw in parts. This is absolutely unacceptable! We left and went to Sawmill Grill down the street. Which is absolutely delicious!! (And apparently the staff that works at the hotel, bartenders etc…tell all their guests to go to the Sawmill Grill and don’t eat the food at Current Kitchen inside the hotel. Now that’s saying something! **The below review is my first one from 2 years ago. The atmosphere is spacious, barely any people. The chicken cordon blue was okay. The fish and chips were very small, the ranch dressing is delicious, and the monte Cristo sandwich was okay. I was disappointed they added a third piece of bread in the center, this made it soggy in the middle, almost undercooked. I also did not care for the panko bread crumb on the outside. A lot of bread and little meat.

My wife and I just ate here for the first time and I have to say it won't be out last. The food was great and the service was even better. I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a try if you haven't yet.

My wife and I were very impressed. They were slow when we went in, so it worried me a bit, but they did not disappoint. The food was beyond what I expected, and service was amazing. I got the fish and chips, and it was great. My wife got the Monte Cristo, and it was the best one we have ever had. I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't yet.

This place is an absolute hidden gem. New ownership and super vibey and tasty. The view is absolutely spectacular in any season and the staff is so so friendly, accommodating and sweet. The garlic Parmesan fries are so good as well as the bang bang cauliflower. Awesome little happy hour even on the weekend. We loved our girls time with yummy huckleberry lemon drop martinis. Definitely come here if you are in the area, you won't regret it!! Our new local meet up spot for sure.

The red lion is so poorly run, and it shows most in their inability to maintain staff. Good luck trying to figure out the restaurant hours. Food is very average and limited

This is a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit for drinks, dinner, or both. We went for happy hour and apps, which were phenomenal. The bang bang cauliflower is a must try. We also ordered chips and salsa and garlic fries which were great. The drinks were on point both with both looks and taste. The staff was some of the friendliest I’ve seen. The view of the river was breathtaking. You must try this spot. I’m visiting from out of state and giving an honest review.

We are locals who somehow just hadn’t come here for dinner yet. What a mistake! We came on a Wednesday evening with a large party and received the most attentive service and delicious food! With such a large party, we were able to try most things on the menu, and nothing disappointed. I know they’ve gone through a series of chefs and menu revisions over the years, and I think they’ve now nailed it. Best fries I’ve had in northern Idaho outside Izzy’s, and excellent tacos, flatbreads, and fish and chips. For a restaurant attached to a hotel and slightly off the beaten path, this place deserves better patronage. We will certainly be back.

New Year's day brunch was delicious! Lobster Eggs Benedict. We've been here a few times, doesn't disappoint.
