Had an emergency situation and needed a place to work - got yelled at by the owner…..more than happy to support the biz, as expected. But madam, please be polite? Hold your attitude if you don’t know how business works :)

I will say order ahead if you’re in a hurry but this place hit the spot. Had the pork belly sandwich, very good. Also a great place to grab a few things for your stay. It is pricey but typical of a ski town. Absolutely recommend.

The owner lady is very rude. Yelling at her employees on multiple occasions in front of customers. Then they served us a burger with no bun. When I came back to get the bun she yelled at me. We also asked for the burger medium rare and it was well done. The store is overpriced (the guy in front of us walked out when he realized a burger and fries was $20) which is to be expected as it's the only convenience store in town. Do your shopping in Truckee and save some money.

I’ve been living in Northstar all winter and realize how great it is to have a place I can walk to for basic groceries. It’s also a cheaper food option at lunch for skiers and snowboarders because it’s right by the gondola, and the sandwich and salad options are top-notch. The staff are friendly and welcoming: a nice touch that they remember me when I walk in. I am happy to pay a premium for the convenience of being so close: and it’s not really that much more expensive for some products than the Safeway 6 miles away. There were two nice touches that sealed this five-star rating: they turn the produce over to keep things fresh and offer half-price at times on things like bananas — and then they’ll throw in an extra for good measure. When I did ask for something they didn’t have, the staff said they’d order some that same weekend and it was on the shelf by Monday.

Great service, good selection of fresh sandwiches, plus all the sundries needed on a ski trip, from toboggans to canned cocktails.

A little spendy, but not unreasonable for a ski resort shop. Great selection of general goods, as well as the absolute best food in the entire village. Get the Ski Bum Basket. You won't be disappointed!
