Most folks great, hence the 4 but I like everything Ive had and Ive had alot from soup to apps to tacos n burritos...fast flavorful
I took my friends to introduce them to some of the best tacos I have had but from the past 3time the food hasn’t been like before. What was disappointing that the shrimp and chicken both were overcooked and when I mentioned it to our server she showed me and attitude. I was very polite. It didn’t feel good. It is still my favourite place to eat but food has been very disappointing. It’s cold and overcooked. churros and birria taco was great. More things happened during our service that I’m not happy about but I’ll let it go!
I enjoyed my meal and would certainly go back to try other items on the menu. The service was fast and out waitress was very attentive. They have daily drink specials so we were there on Margarita Monday, two for the price of one.
I'm used to in-house authentic Mexican food, so most 'Mexican' restaurants don't really do it for me anymore. But Cajones... I'll be back! I had the cod tacos (more than once) and they are the perfect match of Mexican and Newfie tacos. I absolutely love them and wish I could have them more often. Besides, any place that can whip up a quesadilla for my half-Mexican kid is a thumbs up for us!
This sizable bar tex-mex restaurant is situated right in the heart of downtown St. John's and we can heartily recommend it. We had great service and food and the atmosphere, even for a Sunday, was fun. For a city that is notionally more British in culture, the Tex Mex food here was really quite good with great mash-up of traditional Tex-Mex themes with East Coast/Irish ingredients such as fresh fish, moose, and potato-based "nachos". Having eaten in a number of southwestern US places, this stood up very well against them in all departments. Will definitely be back next time we visit.
