Coffee Culture Cafe & Eatery

Great desert and drinks but staff should be more careful about providing a high level of service which can at times be messy and clumsy. Lots of booth seating as well as a comfortable lounge area with television. Popular lunch spot. Wifi provided. UPDATE: Downgraded from 4 stars to 3 due to closing of grill by 9:00PM despite the fact that they are open until 10:00PM and the turning off of wifi with 1/2 hour left on the clock. Also the bathrooms are closed at 9:00PM? UPDATE: Upgraded to 4 stars from 3 for responding to concerns regarding diminished services after 9:00PM. Hopefully the ownership will be able to implement improvements.

Food was good. Staff was slow yet pushy...interesting combination.

I’ve been coming to coffee culture for almost 5 years now since moving to the downtown core, and typically rave about the atmosphere, food and staff. Today’s experience was nothing like usual, the man working was quite nice and still made a nice coffee, I won’t discredit that, but the lady taking my order was snappy and rude. I know food service is a difficult industry, and we are all humans and have bad days but I was made to feel incompetent for specifying “extra sweet” opposed to the exact number of sugars I’d like in my iced coffee. I was considering leaving a review for just the service alone, but typically wouldn’t do such a thing. That was until I found a hair in my brownie, which makes me consider whether it was done personally because of the bad interaction we had. Attached is a photo. As a regular coffee culture customer, I was shocked at the service received today.

I encountered an unsettling experience at Coffee Culture in downtown London when the server (The old man/manager) handling my order exhibited concerning behavior. He appeared intoxicated, his breath reeking of alcohol. Persistently, he repeatedly asked if I wanted to order something else every few minutes, despite already having a coffee and spending the past 45 minutes browsing on my laptop. Additionally, he bizarrely suggested visiting the library to other customers, despite the café being nearly empty. This encounter has left me with a negative impression, and I doubt I'll return to Coffee Culture for another cup.

It was the most unwelcoming place I had come into. As soon as we had walked in, they let us know that the table we were sitting at was a premium table and we would not be able to sit there for too long. That's understandable, and we all bought something (4 different, overpriced drinks). They kept coming over and letting us know about the 'premium table', later telling us it had been two hours since we bought something (it had been 1 hour since I bought something). We thought they meant for us to move to a different table (we did not know what premium meant), and we were all getting hungry and wanted to buy something for lunch. However, after my friend moved to a new table, the staff yelled at her, saying that she needed to buy something or get out and that now he had to clean that table. Obviously, we no longer wanted to buy something so we left. They have also been rude to people I know in the past. I wouldn't recommend it.

Consistently good quality sandwiches, pastries and coffee

This place is amazing!! The service is out of this world and the people are so kind, it's nice and calm in here. Definitely sensory friendly and a good place to wind down and study with some warm coffee and a sweet treat.
